Chick-fil-A's summer 2027 corporate internships went live on 28 September 2026: five roles at its Atlanta Support Center, in accounting, restaurant cash management, treasury, software engineering and business analysis. They won't stay up long. Chick-fil-A tells students that "in most cases intern positions are filled by December 31st", and filled roles come off the board as they go. Last cycle, the summer 2026 accounting posting was gone by 10 November 2025.

In plain words: you apply this fall, ideally in October 2026, and you intern in summer 2027. The internship runs from 17 May to 30 July 2027 at the Support Center, a 73-acre campus with more than 3,000 staff members. It's separate from jobs at Chick-fil-A restaurants, which are run and staffed by independent Owner-Operators.

All five summer 2027 internships posted on 28 September 2026 and none lists a closing date. Chick-fil-A fills most intern roles by 31 December and removes them as they fill, so apply in October.

Chick-fil-A's finance roles ask for advanced Excel and data tools, and its tech roles for real project work, so a finished project helps on either side. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis Externship fits the Accounting and Treasury roles, and the Breaking Games SQL Database Architecture Externship fits the Business Analyst role. What Is a Chick-fil-A Internship?

A Chick-fil-A internship is a paid 11-week summer program at Chick-fil-A, Inc.'s corporate Support Center in Atlanta, where staff work to support the independent Owner-Operators who run the restaurants. The early talent page lists opportunities in information technology and financial services, and every intern is paired with a coach. Interns work on real projects, such as building mobile-thru ordering in the Chick-fil-A App or reconciling restaurant payments, and meet company executives along the way. The work model is hybrid. Chick-fil-A also runs a technology co-op over three non-consecutive semesters, and its restaurants hire separately: an "internship" posted by a single restaurant comes from that Owner-Operator, not from the corporate program.

When Do Chick-fil-A Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Chick-fil-A says it accepts resumes "beginning in August for internships that will begin the following May", but its actual open date has moved around. The summer 2024 tech wave was live by 11 August 2023, the summer 2025 wave opened around 24 September 2024, and the summer 2026 accounting posting was live by mid-October 2025 and gone by 10 November. Applications for summer 2027 opened on 28 September 2026, when all five roles posted on the same day. That's about seven and a half months before the 17 May 2027 start. The co-op runs on its own calendar, and no co-op req was live on 3 October 2026.

October 2026SHORT WINDOW — APPLY WEEK 1

The window that matters most. Chick-fil-A reviews resumes in about three weeks. Accounting applicants who pass the first review take an Accounting Test, and finishing it quickly puts you in the priority applicant pool.

November 2026EXPECTED

Interviews with the hiring manager and a team. Last cycle the accounting posting was gone by 10 November, so expect some summer 2027 roles to close this month.

By 31 December 2026EXPECTED

Most intern positions expected to be filled, per Chick-fil-A's own FAQ. Roles come off the board as they fill.

Summer 2027

The internship runs from 17 May to 30 July 2027 at the Atlanta Support Center, hybrid, with a coach and time with executives. Chick-fil-A doesn't publish a conversion rate.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Chick-fil-A's window is short even without a deadline. Its FAQ says selection starts in September, positions fill on a rolling basis, and "when a position is filled, it is removed." Last cycle the summer 2026 accounting posting was promoted by a university in mid-October 2025 and had already been taken down by 10 November, so it was open for a few weeks at most.

There are also only five roles. The Accounting req feeds five teams through one application, but the other four are single roles. Apply in October, and if you're an accounting applicant, take the Accounting Test the moment you're invited.

Which Chick-fil-A Internship Programs Should You Target?

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Chick-fil-A's summer 2027 reqs share a few hard rules:

• Returning to school: every role requires you to return to your undergraduate program after the internship; the two tech roles specify rising seniors with one or two semesters left.

• Class year: the Accounting and Restaurant Cash Management roles want current juniors or seniors.

• GPA: 3.0 minimum on the Accounting and both technology reqs.

• Tests: accounting applicants must pass the Chick-fil-A Accounting Test; past tech applicants report an online technical assessment.

• Work authorization: Chick-fil-A's FAQ says it's unable to provide visa sponsorship.

• Restaurant experience: not required, but listed as a plus on both technology reqs.

Does Working at a Chick-fil-A Restaurant Help?

A little, but it won't carry you. Chick-fil-A lists restaurant experience as a preferred qualification on its technology reqs, and its early talent page calls it "an added bonus." A long-time restaurant team member said on Reddit that they never got past the resume stage for corporate internships, and another commenter said you need concrete results from your store plus the "three C's": competency, chemistry and character. If you've worked in a restaurant, quantify what you improved there.

What Skills Does Chick-fil-A Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

The five summer 2027 reqs split into finance and technology, but they share more than you'd expect:

• Communication: four of five ask for excellent written, verbal or interpersonal skills.

• Excel and presenting: all three finance roles require Excel and PowerPoint, and the analyst and treasury roles say "advanced", naming pivot tables and V-Lookups.

• Data tools: SQL, Tableau or Alteryx appear on three reqs, including the business analyst role, which builds Tableau dashboards and queries SQL databases.

The software engineer role adds one strong language, such as Java, Python, Go or JavaScript, and lists Git and cloud experience as preferred.

What Is the Chick-fil-A Application and Interview Process Like?

Chick-fil-A's FAQ and recent applicants describe the process like this:

1. Apply on the corporate board. Submit your resume to the role; the Accounting req asks you to rank its five teams from 1 to 5.

2. Resume review. Chick-fil-A says this takes about three weeks; if you fit an open role, you get a link to a fuller online application.

3. Assessment. Accounting applicants take the Chick-fil-A Accounting Test, and should schedule it right away to reach the priority pool. Past tech applicants describe a HackerRank-style online assessment and a recorded video interview.

4. Interviews. You meet the hiring manager and a team of interviewers; be ready to discuss your academics, work, volunteer and leadership experience. Tech applicants describe a behavioral round, then back-to-back behavioral and conceptual technical calls.

5. Offer. Rolling; most roles are filled by 31 December.

The technical round has been described as conceptual rather than LeetCode-style, so know your resume projects and basic database and system design ideas well.

What Students on Reddit Say

Most Reddit discussion of Chick-fil-A internships comes from computer science applicants describing the technology track's process.

Summer 2024 software applicants described a HackerRank online assessment in mid-August, followed by an invitation to a recorded video interview to complete within seven days.

After the first live behavioral interview, the next round was two back-to-back calls, one behavioral and one technical. A candidate said the technical call wasn't LeetCode but a conceptual problem about emails and a database, and advised knowing your resume well.

A team member who had worked at a Chick-fil-A restaurant for years said they applied for corporate internships in college and never reached the interview stage, and that you need concrete results from your store plus proof of competency, chemistry and character.

How Do You Stand Out for a Chick-fil-A Internship?

Three moves that fit how Chick-fil-A hires.

First, be early, and be fast on the test. The roles posted on 28 September and fill by December. Accounting applicants who complete the Accounting Test quickly go into the priority pool, so treat the invitation as urgent.

Second, show leadership and service, not just grades. The Accounting req asks for proven leadership, and both tech reqs prefer on-campus leadership or volunteer work. Chick-fil-A also asks staff to "think others first", so a story about serving a team or community fits.

Third, connect your work to Operators. Every role exists to support the restaurants, from processing franchise fees to building app features. Show you understand the Owner-Operator model and how your role helps a restaurant run.

Chick-fil-A doesn't publish an intern conversion rate. Graduating seniors can look at its full-time Leadership Development Program.

What internships does Chick-fil-A offer for summer 2027?

Is the Chick-fil-A internship paid?

A 3.0 minimum on the Accounting and both technology reqs for summer 2027. All roles require you to return to your undergraduate program after the internship, and the tech roles want rising seniors with one or two semesters left. Accounting applicants must also pass Chick-fil-A's Accounting Test.

What is the Chick-fil-A intern interview like?

After a resume review of about three weeks, candidates take an assessment: the Accounting Test for accounting, or an online technical assessment for tech roles. Interviews are with the hiring manager and a team. Tech applicants describe behavioral rounds and a conceptual technical call rather than LeetCode-style problems.

Chick-fil-A's five summer 2027 internships are open now and fill by December, so apply this month. While you wait to hear back, a remote Externship gives you a finished project to talk about in your interview.
