Search Capgemini's US careers site for an internship and you'll find none. On October 12, 2026, its US job search listed 591 open roles, and not one was an internship. That doesn't mean Capgemini hires no US interns. Its US employer, Capgemini America, posts student roles to university Handshake boards instead. One internship was visible there this fall: a Forward Deployed Engineer Intern role, which Duke's public career board shows as posted on October 5, 2026.
This is a short page because the record is short. The listing names no season, dates, length or location. In plain words: Capgemini's US campus roles for 2027 went up in fall 2026, so you apply during fall 2026 through your school's Handshake. A summer 2027 internship is the natural reading of that listing, but Capgemini hasn't said so.
What Is a Capgemini Internship?
A Capgemini internship in the US is, as far as the public record shows, a single role: the Forward Deployed Engineer Intern at Capgemini America, the group's US employer. The listing describes "hands-on experience at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and business consulting," with structured training and mentorship from experienced engineers. Capgemini's US students page names no internship program at all.
Capgemini itself is large: the group describes "our team of 420,000 experts in more than 50 countries," and its strategy arm, Capgemini Invent, counts more than 10,000 people. It ranks #36 on Vault's 2026 most prestigious consulting firms list. In the US, though, the main student route is a full-time job after graduation, not a summer internship. Capgemini is a French group, and the internship programs you'll find in most search results are in India, the UK or Australia. Those are separate country programs and aren't covered here.

When Do Capgemini Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Only one cycle of Capgemini's US campus postings is documented, and all of it comes from this fall. Capgemini Invent's 2027 Associate Consultant role, a full-time job that starts in June 2027, appeared on Handshake on September 11, 2026, about 8.7 months before the start. A Campus Associate Application Consultant role went up on Capgemini's own site on September 29, 2026. The Forward Deployed Engineer Intern listing followed on October 5, 2026.
The university board shows each Handshake listing for about one month: September 11 to October 12 for the Associate Consultant role, October 5 to November 5 for the internship. A window of about a month on both listings is the board's setting, not a deadline Capgemini wrote. We found no US internship postings from the previous cycle, so the next window, for summer 2028, is a projection from one year: September to early October 2027.
One internship listing is live: Forward Deployed Engineer Intern at Capgemini America, posted to Handshake on October 5, 2026. It states no season; summer 2027 is the natural reading. Capgemini's public US job search shows 591 roles and no internships.
The university board lists the internship until November 5, 2026. That's the board's one-month window, not a stated Capgemini deadline, and the role could be filled or removed sooner.
Capgemini hasn't published interview stages or timing for the internship. Capgemini Invent candidates for the full-time class should practice a guided case of about 45 minutes.
Capgemini Invent's full-time Associate Consultant class starts in June 2027. Internship dates, length and location aren't stated in the listing, so confirm them with the recruiter.
The next campus cycle, including any internship for summer 2028, is expected to reach Handshake in this window. This is projected from the fall 2026 postings alone, so treat it as low confidence.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
There's no employer deadline to plan around, and nothing in the listing says applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. What you can see is how long a Capgemini listing stays visible. Both campus listings on the university board were given about one month from the day they were posted, and the Associate Consultant listing was set to expire on October 12, 2026.
That makes timing a practical problem. The internship isn't on Capgemini's public site, so if the Handshake listing disappears there is nowhere else to find it. A Handshake listing appears only at the schools an employer posts it to, so some students won't see the role at all. There's also only one internship listing this cycle. So check Handshake for "Capgemini America Inc." in early September, turn on employer alerts, and apply within the first two weeks of a listing appearing.
Which Capgemini Internship Programs Should You Target?
One US internship is documented this cycle. The other two campus roles are full-time jobs for new graduates, listed here because that's how most students join.
| Role | What it is | Location | Status (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forward Deployed Engineer Intern (Capgemini America) | Internship. AI and data solutions, Python and SQL, client-facing project work, structured training | Not stated | Live on Handshake; posted October 5, 2026 |
| 2027 Associate Consultant, Capgemini Invent | Full-time, not an internship. Strategy and transformation consulting across four teams; starts June 2027 | Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, New York, San Francisco or Seattle | Posted to Handshake September 11, 2026; board listing set to end October 12, 2026 |
| Campus Associate Application Consultant | Full-time, not an internship. Package-based application consulting | Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and one more city | Live on Capgemini's public site; posted September 29, 2026 |
Capgemini Invent's process for campus hires is on its US students and graduates page. We found no Capgemini Invent summer internship in the US this cycle.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
These points come from the Forward Deployed Engineer Intern listing as shown on a university career board. The listing is brief, and several things a student would want to know aren't in it.
• Field of study: "Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field." The board tags the role for undergraduate students.
• Programming: "foundational experience with Python and/or another general-purpose programming language through coursework, academic projects, or personal projects."
• Nice to have: exposure to AI and machine learning, generative AI or large language models, and familiarity with SQL, APIs, cloud technologies or data platforms.
• Class year and GPA: not stated.
• Work authorization: the internship text doesn't address it. Capgemini's general US line, printed on its Associate Consultant listing, says applicants "must have valid work authorization that does not now and/or will not in the future require sponsorship of a visa."
• Season, length, location: not stated.

Is There a GPA Cutoff for Capgemini's US Internship?
None is stated. The listing sets a field of study and a programming requirement and stops there. That isn't the same as saying grades don't matter; it means Capgemini hasn't published a number, and we won't guess one. The bigger practical filter is access. The role is posted through Handshake, so you can only see it and apply if Capgemini shared it with your school. If you can't find it, ask your career center whether Capgemini America recruits there before assuming the role is closed.

What Skills Does Capgemini Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Three campus listings were readable this fall: the Forward Deployed Engineer Intern, Capgemini Invent's 2027 Associate Consultant and the Campus Associate Application Consultant. The internship asks for Python or another general-purpose language, "strong analytical and problem-solving skills" and an interest in AI, data and software development. It lists SQL, APIs and cloud as nice to have. The Associate Consultant listing leans the same way on AI: consultants "use AI tools (including generative AI) to automate research, accelerate analysis, synthesize information." Both also want strong written and verbal communication and the ability to work with technical and non-technical teammates. Capgemini Invent adds "clear, compelling presentations, storylines, and deliverables."

How Is Demand for Software Engineer Interns Moving Right Now?

For Capgemini applicants: Capgemini's own US job search listed 591 roles and no internships on October 12, 2026. Its one internship this fall, an engineering role, is posted through university Handshake, so look there and not on the public site.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

With so few Capgemini internships in the US, project work is how a senior makes a full-time Associate Consultant application believable.
What Is the Capgemini Application and Interview Process Like?
Capgemini doesn't publish a process for its US internship. Here's what is documented:
1. Find the role in Handshake. Search for the employer "Capgemini America Inc." in your university's Handshake. The public careers site won't show the internship.
2. Apply through Handshake. The university board's apply link leads to the Handshake listing, which needs a student login.
3. Internship interviews. Stages and timing aren't published, and the listing doesn't say whether a case or a coding exercise is used.
4. Capgemini Invent case interview (full-time campus hires). Invent says its case "is guided and lasts approximately 45 minutes," and that "the candidate will solve a business problem in real time." It assesses critical thinking, problem solving and communication.
5. Check work authorization early. Capgemini's US listings require authorization that never needs visa sponsorship.
Invent "strongly" encourages candidates to practice cases beforehand; for the behavioral side, our behavioral interview guide covers the STAR structure.
What We Found on Reddit
Nothing we can use. Every Reddit thread we found about Capgemini internships is about India, Australia or France, and we found no first-hand account of a US Capgemini internship on Reddit or in Vault's internship reviews. We'd rather show no quotes than borrow another country's.
How Do You Stand Out for a Capgemini Internship?
Three moves. First, solve the access problem. Follow "Capgemini America Inc." in Handshake before September and turn on alerts. If nothing shows, ask your career center whether Capgemini recruits at your school. Second, show applied work for the engineering internship. The listing wants Python from "coursework, academic projects, or personal projects" and an interest in AI and data, and it describes working with non-technical teammates. Bring one project you built and can explain to someone who doesn't code. Third, if you want consulting, plan for the full-time route. Capgemini Invent hires undergraduates as Associate Consultants in the fall of senior year, with a guided case interview, and we found no Invent summer internship in the US this cycle. One more caution: most "Capgemini internship" guides online describe India, the UK or Australia, so check the country before you trust a date or a stipend. Capgemini publishes no US intern class size, applicant count or conversion rate.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Capgemini internship?
No, summer 2026 has passed, and we found no US Capgemini internship postings from that cycle. What's live now is one Forward Deployed Engineer Intern listing, posted to Handshake on October 5, 2026. It doesn't state a season, though summer 2027 is the natural reading. Capgemini's public US job site lists no internships.
Does Capgemini have internships in the US?
A few, and they're hard to find. In October 2026 Capgemini America had one internship listing, Forward Deployed Engineer Intern, posted through university Handshake. Capgemini's public US job search showed 591 roles that day and no internships, and its US students page names no internship program. Most US students join as full-time new graduates.
When do Capgemini internship applications open?
This cycle's US campus roles appeared between September 11 and October 5, 2026, with the internship listing on October 5. Capgemini hasn't announced dates for the next cycle. Based on this one year, listings for summer 2028 are expected on Handshake around September to early October 2027, so start checking in early September.
Is there a deadline for the Capgemini internship?
Capgemini doesn't state one. The university board shows the internship listing until November 5, 2026, one month after it was posted, and the firm's other campus listing also ran about a month. That pattern is the board's listing window, not an employer deadline, and the role could close sooner. Apply early.
How much does the Capgemini internship pay?
The listing prints a base compensation range of $60,000 to $65,000 for the role "in the posted location." It gives no hourly rate and doesn't explain how that range applies to an internship, so we haven't converted it. Capgemini adds that candidates aren't typically hired at or near the top of a posted range.
Does Capgemini Invent hire undergraduates?
Yes, as full-time Associate Consultants, not as summer interns in the listings we found. The 2027 Associate Consultant role requires a bachelor's degree by summer 2027, starts in June 2027, and is based in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, New York, San Francisco or Seattle. It was posted to Handshake on September 11, 2026.
Does Capgemini sponsor visas for US campus roles?
No, going by its listings. The Associate Consultant listing requires legal authorization to work in the US "in an unrestricted manner" that never requires visa sponsorship, and Capgemini's general US statement says the same. The internship listing's text doesn't address sponsorship directly, so international students should confirm with the recruiter before applying.
Can US students apply to Capgemini's India or UK internships?
Those are separate country programs with their own eligibility, employers and application sites, and they aren't a route into Capgemini's US roles. Most search results for "Capgemini internship" describe India, the UK or Australia. For the US, the employer is Capgemini America and the listings appear on university Handshake boards and Capgemini's US job search.
Capgemini's US internship is one listing on Handshake, and the main door is a full-time role in senior year. Either way you'll need work to show: a remote Externship gives you a finished AI, data or strategy project for the application.
