Last updated: October 2026

Cantor Fitzgerald's investment banking internship was open for about five weeks last cycle, and those weeks fell in January, roughly 17 months before the internship started. Job trackers show the summer 2027 application opening on January 7, 2026 and closing on February 9. Cantor hasn't published those dates itself. On October 12, 2026, Cantor's job board listed no US internship postings. So this page targets summer 2028. In plain words: you apply in early 2027, you intern in summer 2028.

Applications for summer 2028 are expected around early January 2027, about three months from now. Cantor's careers page names three US summer programs: a nine-week Sales and Trading rotation and two ten-week Investment Banking Summer Analyst programs, one in Healthcare and one in Technology.

What Is a Cantor Fitzgerald Internship?

A Cantor Fitzgerald internship is a nine- or ten-week summer program at Cantor Fitzgerald, the New York financial services firm founded in 1945 as a bond brokerage. Its careers page says: "We offer three summer internship programs in the United States." Sales and Trading interns rotate through the equities, fixed income and prime businesses, and Investment Banking Summer Analysts support either the Healthcare or the Technology team on M&A and capital markets work. A current Cantor job posting describes the firm as a private partnership "with over 16,000 employees." Cantor Fitzgerald ranks #35 on Vault's 2026 Most Prestigious Banking Firms list. Its job board is shared with affiliate BGC, so check which company a posting belongs to. Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland runs its own summer programme on a different calendar; this page covers the US programs.

When Do Cantor Fitzgerald Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Cantor hasn't published its own dates, so the calendar here comes from job trackers and applicant reports. Two trackers recorded the summer 2027 Investment Banking internship opening on January 6 or 7, 2026, and one lists a February 9, 2026 deadline: about five weeks, roughly 17 months before a June 2027 start. An applicant on Wall Street Oasis reported a first round on February 1 and a superday on February 19, 2026. Only one cycle is documented, so treat the projection as a guide: applications for summer 2028 are expected around early January 2027, which matches Trackr's own forecast. We found no dated posting for the Sales and Trading internship, so don't assume it follows the banking dates.

Now · mid-October 2026YOU ARE HERE

Applications for summer 2028 aren't open yet. On October 12, 2026, Cantor's job board listed no US internship postings, and the banking application for summer 2027 closed in February 2026 (tracker-reported). This window is when you build the proof.

Use the three months: the Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling Externship or the HP Tech Ventures Deal Sourcing & Startup Analysis Externship gives you finished valuation or sector analysis work before January.

Investment Banking applications for summer 2028 are expected to open, about 17 months before the internship. The summer 2027 posting was tracked from January 7 to February 9, 2026.

The internship: ten weeks for Investment Banking Summer Analysts, nine for Sales and Trading. Cantor says high-performing interns may be offered a full-time position after graduation.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Cantor's banking application looks like a short window, not a rolling one. Trackers show the summer 2027 posting opening on January 7, 2026 with a February 9 deadline, and an applicant reported a first-round interview on February 1, a week before that deadline. Interviews were already running while the application was still open, so early applicants had more of the process ahead of them. These dates are tracker-reported and community-reported, since Cantor publishes none of them, and with one cycle on record the exact week could shift. Set a reminder for the last week of December 2026, check the board by title every few days, and apply in the first week the summer 2028 posting appears.

Which Cantor Fitzgerald Internship Programs Should You Target?

Cantor names three US summer programs on its careers page, and a fourth student role has appeared on Handshake.

Postings titled "Class of 2027" on Cantor's board are full-time analyst jobs for 2027 graduates, not internships. The three program descriptions are on the Cantor careers page.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Cantor doesn't publish intern eligibility between cycles, and no US internship posting was open when we checked. The closest employer-stated bar comes from its full-time analyst postings:

• Class year: not published for interns. A January application about 17 months ahead falls in the winter of sophomore year for most students; that's our reading of the calendar, not Cantor's wording.

• GPA: not published for interns. The Class of 2027 Consumer & Retail analyst posting asks for a "minimum 3.5 GPA or equivalent."

• Major: the analyst postings list finance, economics, accounting, business or a related field.

• Skills: "Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling techniques." Bloomberg, FactSet or Capital IQ is a plus.

• Work authorization: the same analyst posting requires "eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship." The intern policy isn't published.

• Hours: the posting asks for the "ability to work long hours in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment."

Is the 3.5 GPA a Hard Cutoff at Cantor Fitzgerald?

We can't say for interns, because the 3.5 comes from a full-time analyst posting and Cantor has no internship posting up. The wording there is firm: a "minimum 3.5 GPA or equivalent." A second analyst posting, for Real Estate, asks only for a "strong academic record," so the number isn't uniform even across analyst roles. Read the summer 2028 internship posting when it appears in January and go by that.

What Skills Does Cantor Fitzgerald Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Cantor's program descriptions say what interns do. Investment Banking Summer Analysts build company overviews, annotated stock price charts and summaries of Wall Street analyst views, select and spread trading comparables and precedent transactions, and help prepare offering memoranda. Sales and Trading interns send market updates on stocks, bonds and commodities with the relevant spreads and look for relative-value opportunities. The full-time analyst postings add the tools: "advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint," financial modeling and valuation, and data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet or Capital IQ.

What Is the Cantor Fitzgerald Application and Interview Process Like?

Cantor doesn't publish its intern interview process. Here's what last cycle's trackers and applicants reported:

1. Watch the board from late December. Trackers recorded the summer 2027 banking posting on January 6 or 7, 2026.

2. Apply inside the window. One tracker lists a February 9, 2026 deadline, about five weeks after the posting.

3. First round. An applicant reported a first round on February 1, 2026 (community-reported on Wall Street Oasis).

4. Back-to-back interviews. Applicants described back-to-back interviews with associates and an analyst, and one had two rounds before a back-to-back final.

5. Superday and offer. The same applicant reported a superday on February 19, 2026 and expected offers soon after.

Pick a sector before you apply, since the two named banking programs are Healthcare and Technology. Our investment banking internships guide covers the technical prep.

What the Community Says

Reddit has almost nothing first-hand on the Cantor internship, so two of these cards come from a Wall Street Oasis thread by summer 2027 applicants.

An applicant for the summer 2027 banking class had a first round on February 1 and a superday on February 19, 2026, and figured offers should already be out.

A 2018 reply called Cantor a historically strong fixed income shop with an "eat what you kill" culture and little campus recruiting at the time. Another had seen it as bookrunner on smaller and mid-sized offerings.

How Do You Stand Out for a Cantor Fitzgerald Internship?

Three moves. First, treat it as a January application. Most students start looking in the fall of junior year, which is a cycle late here. Set a reminder for the last week of December 2026. Second, pick a sector. The two named banking programs are Healthcare and Technology, and the Consumer & Retail analyst posting asks for industry interest shown "through coursework, internships, or extracurricular activities." Have two or three companies in your sector you can discuss. Third, practice the listed work. For banking, spread a set of trading comparables and write a one-page company overview. For Sales and Trading, be ready to talk through a market update and one relative-value idea, since both are named in the program description. Cantor publishes no class size, acceptance rate or conversion rate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2027 Cantor Fitzgerald internship?

Not for investment banking. Trackers show that application opening January 7, 2026 and closing February 9, and Cantor's job board listed no US internship postings on October 12, 2026. One summer 2027 asset management research internship has appeared on Handshake. The next banking cycle is summer 2028, expected to open around early January 2027.

When do Cantor Fitzgerald internship applications open for summer 2028?

Around early January 2027 for investment banking, if Cantor repeats last cycle. Trackers recorded the summer 2027 application opening on January 6 or 7, 2026, about 17 months before the internship. Cantor hasn't confirmed a date, and only one cycle is documented. We found no dated posting for Sales and Trading.

Does Cantor Fitzgerald hire interns on a rolling basis?

We found no evidence of rolling admissions. Last cycle's banking application ran about five weeks, from January 7 to February 9, 2026, according to trackers, and an applicant reported a first-round interview on February 1, before the deadline. Treat it as a short window and apply in the first week.

What internship programs does Cantor Fitzgerald offer?

Three in the United States, per its careers page: a nine-week Sales and Trading Summer Internship Program with three rotations, and ten-week Investment Banking Summer Analyst programs supporting the Healthcare team and the Technology team. A summer 2027 asset management research internship has also been listed on Handshake, outside those three.

How much do Cantor Fitzgerald interns get paid?

Cantor hasn't published intern pay that we could find, and no US internship posting was open on October 12, 2026. For context only, two full-time analyst postings in New York list a $100,000 to $125,000 base salary plus bonus. That's a graduate salary, not an intern rate, so don't convert it.

Is a Cantor Fitzgerald "Class of 2027" posting an internship?

No. On Cantor's board, "Class of 2027" marks full-time analyst jobs for students graduating in 2027, such as the Consumer & Retail and Real Estate Investment Banking Analyst postings from September 2026. Summer internships are titled as internships or summer analyst programs, and none was on the US board when we checked.

What is the Cantor Fitzgerald internship interview process like?

Cantor doesn't publish it. Applicants for the summer 2027 banking class reported on Wall Street Oasis a first round on February 1, 2026, back-to-back interviews with associates and an analyst, and a superday on February 19, with New York and San Francisco both mentioned. These are community reports from one cycle.

Do Cantor Fitzgerald interns get full-time offers?

Some do. Cantor's careers page says: "High-performing interns may be offered a full-time position with Cantor following graduation." It doesn't publish a conversion rate. Cantor was also hiring Class of 2027 full-time analysts on its open board in September 2026, so graduate seats aren't filled only from the intern class.

Cantor's banking application for summer 2028 is expected around early January 2027 and didn't stay open long last cycle. Use the three months before it: a remote Externship gives you finished valuation or sector analysis work to bring to a January application.
