BrightSpring Health Services Internship 2027–2028: Programs, Deadlines & How to Apply

Last updated: August 2026

BrightSpring Health Services (NASDAQ: BTSG) grew Q2 2026 revenue 23.0% year over year to $3.87 billion and serves over 485,000 patients, clients and customers every day in all 50 states, yet its internship program stays small: on August 10, 2026, the careers board carried just two live intern requisitions company-wide, both at its Amerita specialty-infusion subsidiary.

And here's the thing most applicants won't expect: BrightSpring doesn't run an annual recruiting window. Intern roles post on a rolling basis, one to five months before the start date, and applications are reviewed within seven business days. The Louisville corporate Finance and Accounting internships run year-round at 20 to 25 hours a week.

What Is a BrightSpring Health Services Internship?

A BrightSpring internship is a paid placement at the $15.1 to $15.4 billion home- and community-based healthcare company (founded 1974, more than 25,000 employees), run from its Louisville, Kentucky support center and subsidiary offices. The internship program puts you on a corporate team in finance, legal, HR, IT, marketing, communications or project management, with hands-on experience, mentoring and job shadowing, networking events, interactive workshops, and a final project showcase. It comes in two shapes: a full-time summer program, and a year-round, part-time track at 20 to 25 hours a week for the Louisville finance roles. A note on terminology: BrightSpring's PharMerica pharmacy division separately uses the term "externship" for its licensed pharmacy student placements; those are clinically licensed roles, unrelated to the corporate internships covered here or to Extern's Externships, which are short, remote project programs.

When Do BrightSpring Health Services Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

BrightSpring doesn't publish an application calendar or a program start date, so you read the pattern from its 2026-cycle behavior. The Legal Intern posted around April, the IT Intern closed May 23, Finance & Accounting appeared in late May, and Accounting followed in late June.

So that's a one-to-five-month lead time from posting to start, far shorter than most large employers. For summer 2027, expect corporate intern reqs to appear roughly February through June 2027 (EXPECTED).

And the Louisville year-round Accounting and Finance tracks run on a separate clock entirely: they can post in any month, including right now.

Now · Fall 2026YOU ARE HERE

Year-round Louisville Finance and Accounting internships can post in any month. Join the campus Talent Network now and set your iCIMS alert. This is also your proof-building window: what you can show when a req appears in February decides whether seven-day review leads to an interview.

The Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship and Beats by Dre Data Analytics Externship are remote, real-company projects that give a healthcare corporate application finished work.
December 2026 (EXPECTED)

The Brighter Futures Scholarship ($10,000 a year, renewable up to four years) is expected to open, based on a December 2, 2025 opening in the 2026 cycle. Deadline expected around early March 2027. Separate from internships, but worth applying if you have a 3.0 GPA.

February to June 2027 (EXPECTED)EXPECTEDROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

Summer 2027 corporate intern requisitions are expected to appear here, based on the 2026 cycle. BrightSpring's lead time is one to five months from posting to start. Applications are reviewed within seven business days, and the IT Intern posting warned it may close before the stated closing date.

Online application, an assessment for some roles, then phone and in-person interviews. Glassdoor reports a median of 9 days from first contact to outcome across 220 interviews, with a difficulty rating of 2.1 out of 5. Background check and drug screen are routine.

Summer 2027 (EXPECTED)

Full-time summer internships at the Louisville support center and Amerita offices in Englewood CO, Dallas TX and Atlanta GA. Amerita roles continue part-time or PRN into the school year. BrightSpring writes the return pathway into its JDs: "potential for full-time employment after graduation, based on performance."

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

BrightSpring's careers FAQ says applications are "reviewed within seven business days," and the IT Intern posting on Prosple warned it "may close before the stated closing date." With only a handful of intern reqs a year (two were live company-wide on August 10, 2026) and 67% of hires coming through the online application, the risk isn't a missed deadline. It's never seeing the posting. The single highest-value action: join the campus Talent Network.

And then BrightSpring's own system emails you when a matching req opens, turning a rolling program into something you can act on the day it appears.

Which BrightSpring Health Services Internship Programs Should You Target?

BrightSpring runs one internship program with many functional seats, not a set of named tracks. But which team you join depends entirely on what's open when you apply. Six evidenced tracks from the 2026 cycle, plus the Amerita cross-functional roles:

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

BrightSpring's requirements vary by track, and the spread is wide:

Enrollment: currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's or master's in a related field. Amerita roles accept juniors, seniors or recent graduates.

GPA: for Finance and Accounting internships, a stated minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (and 3.0 in the major for the Finance & Accounting track). Every other function found (Legal, IT, HR, Marketing, Project Management) lists no GPA.

Coursework: the Finance & Accounting track requires completion of intermediate-level accounting or finance courses. Accounting requires introductory accounting. Other tracks list no coursework prerequisite.

Location: Louisville corporate internships require residence within daily commuting distance. Amerita roles are on-site in Englewood CO, Dallas TX or Atlanta GA. No remote option was found.

Work authorization: the 2026 IT Intern was open to US citizens, permanent residents and student visa holders. No general sponsorship policy is published.

Does BrightSpring Have a GPA Cutoff?

For the Finance and Accounting internships, yes. The job descriptions state a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, and the Finance & Accounting track applies it twice: cumulative and major GPA.

But here's the contrast: every other BrightSpring intern posting found, covering Legal, IT, HR, Marketing and Project Management, lists no GPA at all. Those JDs screen on Microsoft Office fluency, communication and healthcare interest instead. So the answer depends entirely on which function you're targeting.

And that's a useful thing to know before you apply.

What Skills Does BrightSpring Health Services Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Seven real BrightSpring intern job descriptions from the 2026 cycle tell you exactly what to prepare. Four skills appear in every single one: written and verbal communication, Microsoft Office (Excel most of all), cross-functional teamwork, and managing several priorities to deadline. Detail orientation, self-direction, process improvement and compliance awareness show up in six of seven. And analytical thinking, the more selective bar, appears in just four.

But here's one honest caveat: those seven reqs run on about four distinct requirement templates (Legal and IT share one, the two Amerita roles share another), so the four 100% rows reflect BrightSpring's house boilerplate as much as role-specific demand. Read the ranking, not the precision.

Read the ranking, not the precision.

How Is Demand for Corporate Healthcare Interns Moving Right Now?

Corporate healthcare intern hiring right now: August 2026

Across US healthcare intern postings tracked this month · aggregate market data, all employers

=
~343 live "clinical intern" postings (exact phrase) and ~211 "healthcare intern" postings (all words) on Adzuna US; ZipRecruiter lists 1,000+ healthcare internship openings
Corporate track pays above clinical: ~$21.64/hr median (n=136 corporate/business-track ads) vs ~$18.99/hr for clinical/patient-facing roles. BrightSpring's published $18–20/hr sits just under the corporate median
44 of the sampled ads already reference 2027, confirming the summer-2027 healthcare cycle is visible during August 2026. Remote or hybrid appears in only 0.5% of the sample — healthcare interning is near-universally on-site

August 2026 is this tracker's baseline month, so month-over-month shifts appear at the next update. The early signal: the corporate healthcare track out-pays the clinical track by about $2.65 an hour, and BrightSpring's $18–20/hr sits just under that corporate median, making the case less about pay and more about the Louisville support-center exposure and the stated full-time pathway.

Method: aggregate analysis of US healthcare intern postings via Adzuna, August 2026 baseline. Sample indexes under half of all US postings; figures show direction and relative level, not total market share. The pool is dominated by licensed pharmacy and nursing intern roles; the corporate-track figures above filter to non-clinical titles.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

And every bar in the chart maps to a remote Externship that ends in a finished company project.

So how close is the overlap? The Healthcare Operations Consulting deliverable is process-improvement work in the Amerita JDs' own vocabulary, and the Attronica project is real financial modeling and variance analysis, an artifact for the Finance and Accounting bar.

What Is the BrightSpring Health Services Application and Interview Process Like?

BrightSpring publishes its own process on the careers page: online application, assessments (varies by role), phone interview, in-person interview, with applications reviewed inside seven business days.

1. Join the campus Talent Network first. With only a couple of intern reqs a year and no published window, the email alert is what turns a rolling program into something you can act on. You can also join the general Talent Network.

2. Search the iCIMS board for "Intern" and filter by category (Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Legal, Marketing, Project Management) and by the Louisville / Lyndon, KY location. There's no limit on how many roles you can apply to.

3. Apply online through iCIMS. Expect a response inside seven business days. BrightSpring discloses that it may use third-party AI to process employment data, with humans in the loop, so write a clean, keyword-honest resume.

4. Assessment, where the role or location calls for one. There's no coding test. Glassdoor reports skills tests in 9% and personality tests in 2% of processes. Excel fluency is what actually gets probed.

5. Phone interview, then in-person interview at the Louisville support center for corporate roles. Across 220 Glassdoor reports, difficulty rates 2.1 out of 5 and the experience is 58% positive. Interviewers are described as "friendly, professional" and "laid back yet direct."

6. Pre-employment checks. Background check (19% of reported processes) and drug screen (18%) are a routine part of hiring at this employer.

Median reported time from first contact to outcome: 9 days.

And here's a prep shortcut: the LEGACY values (Leadership, Environment, Get Going, Attitude, Communication, You are an example) are published on the careers page and make an unusually easy behavioural-answer scaffold.

What Students on Reddit Say

There's no BrightSpring internship discussion on Reddit.

But the closest threads cover PharMerica (BrightSpring's pharmacy subsidiary) and the Louisville corporate office.

The work resembles retail pharmacy volume, except you never see or talk to the patient. It's all behind the scenes, long-term-care fulfilment and no walk-in customers.

r/PharmacyTechnician consensus, paraphrased · read the thread

Shifts are non-retail and behind the scenes. It's fulfilment-based, shift-scheduled, and the daily routine is closer to distribution than to a traditional pharmacy counter.

People swap stories under three different company names: BrightSpring, PharMerica, ResCare. It's all the same parent. If you're applying through iCIMS, the Line of Business field tells you which brand you'd actually work for.

How Do You Stand Out When Only Two Intern Spots Are Open?

Three moves, starting with the biggest one. First, join the campus Talent Network today: with only two intern requisitions company-wide on August 10, 2026, and just 1% of BrightSpring hires coming through campus recruiting, the online application is the channel, and getting the alert on day one is the entire timing advantage. Second, learn the LEGACY values (Leadership, Environment, Get Going, Attitude, Communication, You are an example) and use them as a behavioural-answer scaffold in the interview. Third, bring proof that you can manage multiple priorities, handle Excel at speed and write clearly, since those three things appear in every single BrightSpring intern job description. What does that proof look like? A finished remote Externship project is the fastest way to turn "I'm interested in healthcare" into evidence.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 BrightSpring Health Services internship?

The summer 2026 cohort has already run, confirmed by an intern review posted in July 2026.

But BrightSpring is unusual: it fills internships on a rolling basis all year. The Louisville year-round Accounting and Finance internships plus the Amerita cross-functional roles can open in any month, so check the iCIMS board now and target summer 2027.

When do BrightSpring internship applications open for summer 2027?

There's no published window. Based on the 2026 cycle (Legal posted around April, IT closed May 23, Finance & Accounting late May, Accounting late June), applications for summer 2027 are expected to appear roughly February through June 2027, about one to five months before the internship starts. That's far later than most large employers.

So join the Talent Network rather than waiting for a fall announcement.

Is there a GPA cutoff for BrightSpring internships?

For the Finance and Accounting internships, yes. The job descriptions state a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, and the Finance & Accounting track also requires a 3.0 in the major. Every other BrightSpring intern posting found, covering Legal, IT, HR, Marketing and Project Management, lists no GPA at all and screens on Microsoft Office fluency, communication and healthcare interest instead.

How much do BrightSpring interns get paid?

BrightSpring's Amerita subsidiary publishes $18 to $20 an hour on its intern postings.

But the Louisville corporate internships don't publish a rate. Indeed estimates about $16.58 an hour across BrightSpring intern roles, but that estimate comes from only two postings, so treat it as directional.

What does the BrightSpring interview process look like?

Online application, an assessment for some roles, a phone interview, then an in-person interview, with applications reviewed within seven business days. Across 220 Glassdoor reports, the process rates 2.1 out of 5 for difficulty and takes a median of 9 days. Background checks and drug screens are routine. There's no coding assessment; Excel fluency is what actually gets probed.

Do BrightSpring interns get full-time offers?

BrightSpring writes the pathway into its job descriptions: "potential for full-time employment after graduation, based on performance." And it publishes an intern testimonial from Parker, a Project Management Intern who was offered a full-time role.

But no conversion rate is published, so treat it as a real but unquantified pathway.

What skills does BrightSpring look for in interns?

Across seven 2026-cycle intern job descriptions, four things appear in every single one: written and verbal communication, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), cross-functional teamwork, and managing several priorities to deadline. Detail orientation, self-direction, process improvement and compliance awareness appear in six of seven.

And for the finance roles specifically, Oracle Fusion and GAAP show up by name.

Where are BrightSpring internships located?

The corporate internship program runs from the Louisville, Kentucky support center, and the Finance & Accounting posting requires you to live within daily commuting distance. The Amerita specialty-infusion internships sit in Englewood, Colorado; Dallas, Texas; and Atlanta, Georgia. No remote internship option was found.

There's no annual window to wait for, just rolling postings that appear one to five months before the start date and close fast.

So move now: join the campus Talent Network so you see the req on day one, then fill the gap between now and then with proof. A remote Externship turns "I'm interested in healthcare operations" into a finished project the seven-day application review can actually see.
