Between 12 and 16 October 2026 the Catholic health system posted 24 requisitions for The Resource Group (TRG), its wholly owned supply chain business: 12-week internships starting 17 May 2027, paying "starting at $20/hour" plus a pre-paid spring stipend. TRG's page also says international students are welcome. In plain words: you apply in fall 2026, you intern in summer 2027.

None of the 24 postings shows a closing date, but TRG warns that "some roles may close quickly," so treat this as a short window. Ascension (the St. Louis system, not Ascension Parish in Louisiana) also lists about 32 clinical student intern roles for nursing, imaging, respiratory and pharmacy students, and a graduate-only Administrative Fellowship whose deadline passed on 10 September 2026.

An Ascension internship, for a business student, usually means a 12-week summer role at The Resource Group (TRG), an "end-to-end supply chain partner to healthcare organizations across the United States, wholly-owned by Ascension." TRG interns work in areas such as strategic sourcing analytics, contract design, deployment, master data management, pharmacy solutions and supply chain integration, and they apply through Ascension's own job system.

Ascension describes itself as "a leading nonprofit Catholic health system" with 99,000+ associates, headquartered in St. Louis. TRG's internship page said "will open on September 22, 2025" for summer 2026 (an archived copy from 17 September 2025), and by March 2026 it said "check back in September 2026" for summer 2027. The summer 2027 requisitions went live on 12 to 16 October 2026, about three weeks later than last year's opening and roughly seven months before the 17 May 2027 start. Dates drifted once, so the summer 2028 window is a low-confidence projection.

The TRG postings share one template, so the gates are consistent:

• Education: "High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required." The preference line adds "College Junior year and above (ie, Supply Chain, Operations, Business)" on 23 of the 24 postings. One Novi, Michigan role prefers a graduate-level program (MBA, MHA, MPH or similar).

• International students: TRG's page says "We also welcome international students to apply." The postings don't mention sponsorship, so ask in the interview.

• GPA: none stated in the postings we read.

• Majors: supply chain, operations and business for most roles. The Managed Care Analytics intern prefers math, statistics, economics or healthcare studies.

• Clinical roles: need enrollment in the matching clinical program (nursing, imaging, respiratory therapy, pharmacy). The graduate fellowship needs a master's degree.

Is Junior Year a Hard Cutoff?

Probably not. The education line is the requirement (enrollment in an accredited program), and junior year and above sits under "Additional Preferences." Ascension doesn't say how strictly preferences are applied, so a sophomore with relevant coursework or a project can still apply, though juniors and seniors will likely fill most seats. Pick a role whose example majors match yours, and show the skill in the posting's own words.

The 24 TRG postings repeat the same analytical toolkit. Spreadsheets, dashboards and presentations come up in most of them, and data work in nearly all. The Strategic Sourcing Analytics posting is the most specific: financial analysis, dashboards and reports built in Excel, VBA, Tableau, SQL and BigQuery, plus support for RFPs, quotes, bids and reverse auctions. Other roles lean on project planning and customer-facing coordination with hospital teams.
