The Arizona Cardinals, the NFL team in Glendale and not the MLB St. Louis Cardinals, don't call their student-level jobs internships. They post paid "Training Camp Assistant" roles for the July and August training camp, and TeamWork Online tags the 2027 one as an intern role. As of 17 October 2026, one is open on the Cardinals' job board: Athletic Training, posted 9 September 2026 for a mid-July 2027 start, about ten months ahead. The posting says it's "a paid position with housing, travel and selected meals provided", asks only that you're "enrolled in a college level educational program", and says the team can't sponsor any work visa, including student visas, OPT and CPT. In plain words: you apply from now into early 2027, and you work camp in mid-July to August 2027.

What Is an Arizona Cardinals Internship?

An Arizona Cardinals internship, in practice, is a Training Camp Assistant job: a paid, temporary, full-time role during the NFL team's July and August training camp at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The Cardinals Football Club posts these roles in football operations, such as athletic training, equipment, analytics and systems development, on its job board. There is no branded internship program and no business-side internship (marketing, sales, partnerships) on the Cardinals' own board right now; entry roles there are full-time jobs. The roles are for students enrolled in college, but they are working jobs with long hours in the heat, not rotations.

When Do Arizona Cardinals Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Each camp role posts separately. The 2027 Athletic Training role went up on 9 September 2026 and was updated on 9 October. For 2026, a Wayback capture of the TeamWork Online board dated 16 February 2026 already listed Equipment, Systems Developer and Analytics camp roles for mid-July starts, but their first-posting dates aren't recoverable. That gives an upper bound of about five months of lead time for those roles, so treat December 2026 to February 2027 as expected, not confirmed.

Other camp roles for 2027 are expected: Equipment, Analytics, Systems Developer and Football Operations were all camp roles in 2026. Their 2026 versions were on the board by 16 February 2026, and no closing dates are printed, so apply in the first days.

Mid-July 2027

Camp starts. The Athletic Training posting runs mid-July to August 2027, with early mornings, evenings, weekends and heat.

After camp

The Cardinals also list an "Assistant, Athletic Training" role for May 2027 to June 2029. It asks for a master's degree or equivalent, certification and one to two years of experience, so it's a two-year post-graduate job, not a student internship.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

The mode is rolling per role. The Athletic Training posting has no closing date and has been live since 9 September, but nothing guarantees it stays up. For roles that haven't posted, the safest plan is to apply in the first days, because the postings print no end date. Check the job board every few weeks from November and set an alert on TeamWork Online.

Which Arizona Cardinals Internship Programs Should You Target?

The Cardinals post one requisition per camp role. These are the ones we found, with the open one first.

Roles post on the Cardinals job board. Business-side roles there are full-time jobs, and the stadium event operator Insignia Events, which shares the TeamWork Online page, is a different employer.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The Athletic Training posting sets these requirements:

• Education: must be enrolled in a college-level educational program.

• Experience: prior exposure to athletic training or sports medicine, a football gameday or practice environment, or handling equipment.

• Physical: lift 30+ pounds regularly, stand for up to eight hours and work in extreme heat.

• Availability: early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, mid-July to August 2027.

• Work authorization: you must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. The Cardinals can't sponsor or take over a work visa, including student visas, OPT and CPT.

• Other: pre-employment forms and a background check. GPA isn't stated.

Can International Students Apply?

Only if your work authorization needs no sponsorship from the Cardinals. The posting says the team is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a visa, and it names student visas, OPT and CPT. That rules out roles that depend on CPT or OPT paperwork from the employer. If you already hold authorization that doesn't need an employer's sponsorship, you can apply like any other enrolled student.

What Skills Do the Arizona Cardinals Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

We read one full Cardinals posting, the Athletic Training role. It asks for comfort around injured athletes, confidentiality with medical records, effective communication across the organization, high energy and a positive attitude, and the physical stamina for long days in heat. The 2026 analytics and systems roles are closed, and their text isn't available on the Cardinals' own board, so we don't list skills for them.

Note: Only one Cardinals camp-role posting was available in full (Athletic Training, 17 October 2026), which is too few postings for a skills chart. Check the 2027 Equipment, Analytics and Systems Developer postings when they appear.

These are adjacent skills, not requirements. For athletic training itself, hands-on exposure counts most, so pair any Externship with practice or sideline experience.

What Is the Arizona Cardinals Application and Interview Process Like?

The Cardinals don't publish an interview format. Here is what the posting and board show:

1. Search the right term. Look for "Training Camp Assistant" on the Cardinals' job board or TeamWork Online, not "intern".

2. Check your authorization. The posting excludes visa sponsorship, including student visas, OPT and CPT.

3. Apply on the job board. The Cardinals use UKG Pro. TeamWork Online's Apply button also leads there.

4. Prepare for camp conditions. Pre-employment forms and a background check follow an offer, and the role needs early mornings, weekends and heat tolerance.

Interview steps and selection timing aren't published.

What Students on Reddit Say

Reddit has no first-hand account of a Cardinals camp-assistant job. Searches returned only automated reposts of postings and threads about the MLB St. Louis Cardinals, so this section has no community cards.

How Do You Stand Out for a Cardinals Camp Role?

Three moves. First, use the team's word. Search for Training Camp Assistant and write your resume around camp: equipment, gameday or practice exposure, sports medicine, and long outdoor days. Second, apply early. The Athletic Training role opened ten months before camp, and the others are expected to appear over the winter. Third, show you can handle the conditions: heat, early mornings and weekends are in the posting. The Cardinals don't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate, so treat camp as a way to meet the football operations staff and ask about next steps.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Arizona Cardinals internship?

No. The 2026 camp roles (Equipment, Systems Developer and Analytics) were listed in February 2026 for mid-July starts and are closed. One 2027 role is open: Training Camp Assistant, Athletic Training, posted on 9 September 2026 for the mid-July to August 2027 camp.

Does the Arizona Cardinals have an internship program?

Not under that name. Student-level roles are posted as paid Training Camp Assistant jobs, and TeamWork Online tags the 2027 one as an intern role. We found no business-side internships (marketing, sales or partnerships) on the Cardinals' own job board on 17 October 2026.

How much do Arizona Cardinals camp assistants make?

The hourly rate isn't published. The Athletic Training posting says only that it's a paid position, with housing, travel and selected meals provided for the duration of the role, and it shows no pay range. Third-party salary figures aren't tied to this posting, so we don't repeat them.

When do Arizona Cardinals camp role applications open?

Athletic Training opened on 9 September 2026. Other camp roles for 2027 are expected between about December 2026 and February 2027, because the 2026 versions were already listed on 16 February 2026. That's an upper bound from one capture, so check the board every few weeks.

Can international students apply for Cardinals camp roles?

Only without sponsorship. The posting requires authorization to work for any employer in the US and says the Cardinals can't sponsor or take over a visa, including student visas, OPT and CPT. If your work authorization depends on the employer, this role isn't an option.

Do I have to be an athletic training major?

The posting requires enrollment in a college-level program, not a specific major. It does expect prior exposure to athletic training or sports medicine, a football gameday or practice environment, or equipment handling. Showing that experience matters more than the major on your transcript.

Is the Assistant, Athletic Training role an internship?

No. It runs May 2027 to June 2029, requires a master's degree in athletic training or a bachelor's with a completed master's, BOC certification and one to two years of experience, and isn't a permanent post. It's a two-year post-graduate job, separate from the student camp role.

Do Arizona Cardinals camp assistants get full-time offers?

The Cardinals don't publish a conversion rate. The Athletic Training posting describes the role as a chance to gain a future career in athletic training with first-hand NFL experience, but it promises nothing. Ask your supervisor about openings during camp rather than assuming an offer.

One Cardinals camp role is open now, and more are expected over the winter. Use the wait to build a finished project, and if you want one, a remote Externship takes about 5 to 10 hours a week.
