Last updated: October 2026
Anomaly's summer internship is closed, and the window to apply is short. The agency's own internship site reads "Applications are closed" and "See you next year" for the 2026 program, which ran June 2 to August 6 in New York and stopped taking applications on April 10, 2026. Anomaly's applications closed on April 10 or 13 in every cycle we could check (2023, 2025 and 2026), so the summer 2027 call is expected from about mid-March to around April 10, 2027. In plain words: you apply in spring 2027, you intern in summer 2027, and applying this fall is too early.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, most often in 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. The Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy Externship is built around the brand and campaign thinking an agency brief starts from, and the Health-Ade Consumer Behavior & Insights Externship trains the consumer research behind it. What Is an Anomaly Internship?
An Anomaly internship is a paid, 10-week summer placement at Anomaly's New York office, run through its own internship site rather than a job board. Anomaly is a creative agency whose site shows clients such as Starbucks, Budweiser and Don Julio. The program takes interns into account management, art direction, copywriting, design, brand strategy, production and content creation, and starts the first Tuesday of June. Don't confuse it with the many "anomaly" roles in data science and security, which have nothing to do with the agency. Anomaly doesn't publish a class size, a conversion rate or its eligibility rules.

When Do Anomaly Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Anomaly's internship site is the only source: there's no job board and no careers page. The site gave these closing dates: April 10, 2023 (Wayback capture of March 28, 2023), April 13, 2025 (capture of April 10, 2025) and April 10, 2026 (the 2026 page). We found no usable 2024 capture. Programs started the first Tuesday of June, June 3, 2025 and June 2, 2026. The site doesn't say when applications open. The 2025 page was already live in an archive capture on March 24, 2025, and the 2026 page's header image was uploaded March 18, 2026, so mid-March is our proxy, not Anomaly's statement. On that basis the window runs about four weeks and the start comes roughly 2.5 months after it opens.
Closed. anomalyinterns.com reads "Applications are closed" and "See you next year," and Anomaly lists no internship on anomaly.com or on a job board. There's nothing to apply to until spring 2027.
Choose a track and finish your best piece: a portfolio for art direction, copywriting, design or content creation, and a brand or consumer case for strategy and account management. Set a calendar reminder for March 1 and bookmark anomalyinterns.com.
Summer 2027 applications expected to open about mid-March and close around April 9 to 13. Past closes were April 10, 2023, April 13, 2025 and April 10, 2026.
Replies expected by about the end of April: 2026 applicants were told they'd hear by April 30 or sooner. Interview steps aren't published.
A 10-week in-person program in New York, starting the first Tuesday of June in 2025 and 2026. The 2025 program paid $780 a week and used a hybrid schedule with office days Tuesday to Thursday. Dates for 2027 aren't published.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Anomaly's close is fixed, and the window is short. Applications closed on April 10 in 2023 and 2026 and on April 13 in 2025, and the site doesn't say when they open. If mid-March is right, the whole window lasts about four weeks. There's no rolling-review language and no job-board alert to catch the opening, so the internship site is the only notice you'll get. Check it from March 1, and apply in the first week you see the form live rather than waiting for the April deadline.
Which Anomaly Internship Programs Should You Target?
Anomaly's 2025 page is the last one with role detail. Summer 2026 tracks weren't captured, and 2023 also listed Social Strategy and Project Management.
| Track | Focus | Duration | Key details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account Management | Client-facing role that keeps projects and details on track | 10 weeks, in person in NYC | Listed in 2023 and 2025 |
| Art Direction | Visual concepts and campaign design, paired with a copywriter | 10 weeks, in person in NYC | Listed in 2023 and 2025 |
| Copywriting | Headlines, scripts and taglines on real briefs, in a creative team | 10 weeks, in person in NYC | Listed in 2023 and 2025 |
| Design | Branding, design development and comping | 10 weeks, in person in NYC | Listed in 2023 and 2025 |
| Brand Strategy | Diagnosing what makes a brand work and setting strategy | 10 weeks, in person in NYC | On the 2025 page; 2023 listed Social Strategy instead |
| Production and Content Creator | Production: stock searches to film shoots. Content Creator: shooting, editing and concepting social ideas | 10 weeks, in person in NYC | On the 2025 page; Production also in 2023 |
The tracks above come from the archived 2025 page; check anomalyinterns.com in March for the 2027 list.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Anomaly doesn't publish eligibility rules. We read the 2023 page, the 2025 page and the 2026 closed banner, and none states them.
• Class year: not stated.
• GPA: not stated.
• Work authorization: not stated.
• Location: the program is in person in New York. In 2025 it was hybrid, with office days Tuesday to Thursday, so plan to be in the city from early June to early August.
• Application materials: the form's contents aren't visible in the archive, so we can't say whether it asks for a portfolio. For the creative tracks, have one ready anyway.

Do You Need an Advertising Major?
Nothing Anomaly publishes says so. The tracks span creative work (art direction, copywriting, design, content creation), strategy, client service and production, and the 2025 role descriptions describe the work, not a degree. We found no class-year or GPA rule, so don't rule yourself out on a guess; check the form when it opens.
What Skills Does Anomaly Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Anomaly publishes no skills list and has no posting open, so there are no job descriptions to count. The 2025 role blurbs are the only evidence, and they describe the work. Account management keeps the details and the clients on track. Art direction and copywriting tackle real briefs as a pair. Design runs from branding to comping. Brand strategy diagnoses what makes a brand work and what doesn't. Production covers everything from stock searches to film shoots, and content creators shoot, edit and join the concepting.
Note: No skill chart this time. Anomaly has no internship posting to read, and its archived role descriptions are short blurbs, not requirement lists, so there's nothing to count.
How Is Demand for Marketing Interns Moving Right Now?
Marketing intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 1,424 in August
For Anomaly applicants: Anomaly posts no internship on a job board. Its program lives on its own internship site, which read "Applications are closed" on October 25, 2026, and its window falls in March and April, after the fall wave shown here.
Daily US job-posting counts, Sep 1–30 vs Aug 1–31, 2026. Covers under half of US postings; shows direction, not market size.
Build These Skills Before You Apply
Anomaly names no tools, so this table maps each track's described work to the closest open remote Externship.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Brand and campaign strategy | 2025 page: Brand Strategy interns diagnose what makes a brand work and set the strategy | Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy |
| Consumer insight | 2025 page: Brand Strategy and Account Management work starts from the client's customers | Health-Ade (Generous Brands) Consumer Behavior & Insights |
| Account and project management | 2025 page: Account Management keeps the details and the clients on track | BeReal Product Management |
None of these builds art direction, copywriting or design craft. For those tracks your portfolio is the proof, and no Externship replaces it.
What Is the Anomaly Application and Interview Process Like?
Anomaly publishes the application route and a reply date, and nothing more.
1. Watch the internship site. The call appears on anomalyinterns.com, expected in mid-March.
2. Pick a track. The 2025 page listed seven tracks, so decide which one you're applying for.
3. Apply before the close. The 2025 application was a Google Form linked from the site.
4. Wait for a reply. 2026 applicants were told they'd hear by April 30 or sooner.
5. Start in June. The program began on the first Tuesday of June in 2025 and 2026.
Interview format, assessments and the number of rounds aren't published.
What We Found on Reddit
Nothing we can use. The Reddit threads that mention Anomaly are agency-list discussions in r/advertising, and none is a first-hand account of the internship. We'd rather show no quotes than borrow another agency's.
How Do You Stand Out in a Four-Week Window?
First, be ready before March. The window is about four weeks, so pick your track and finish your best piece in the winter, not after the form opens. Second, match the track: art direction and copywriting are described as a pair working on real briefs, so show a campaign idea built as a pair if you can, while strategy and account applicants should bring a brand case. Third, plan for New York. The program is in person from early June to early August, so settle housing and your start date early. Anomaly doesn't publish class size, acceptance rates or a conversion rate, so we won't estimate them.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Anomaly internship?
No. Applications for the 2026 program closed on April 10, 2026, and the program ran June 2 to August 6. Anomaly's internship site now says applications are closed and to see you next year. The summer 2027 call is expected from about mid-March 2027, with a close around April 10.
When do Anomaly internship applications open?
Anomaly doesn't say. Its site named April 10, 2023, April 13, 2025 and April 10, 2026 as the closing dates. The 2025 page was live by March 24, 2025, and the 2026 header image was uploaded March 18, 2026, so we expect mid-March 2027, as an estimate, not Anomaly's statement.
How much does the Anomaly internship pay?
Anomaly's own site listed $780 a week for the summer 2025 program, per an archived copy from April 10, 2025. That's roughly $19.50 an hour at 40 hours, our arithmetic, not a stated rate. The 2026 pay isn't on the archived pages, so we don't quote a 2027 figure.
Is the Anomaly internship in person?
Yes. It's based in Anomaly's New York office. The 2025 page described a hybrid model with interns in the office Tuesday to Thursday. Summer 2026 and 2027 schedules aren't published, so confirm the in-person expectation when the form opens and plan to be in New York from early June.
Which roles does Anomaly hire interns for?
The 2025 page listed account management, art direction, copywriting, design, brand strategy, production and content creator. The 2023 page also listed social strategy and project management. We couldn't capture the 2026 role list, so check anomalyinterns.com in March for the roles in the 2027 program.
Who is eligible for the Anomaly internship?
Anomaly doesn't publish eligibility. The 2023, 2025 and 2026 pages state no school year, GPA, major or work-authorization requirement. Because nothing is published, read the application form when it opens, and email talent@anomaly.com with a short question if something is unclear.
Where do I apply for an Anomaly internship?
On anomalyinterns.com, Anomaly's own internship site. In 2025 the application was a Google Form linked from that page. Anomaly lists no internship on its main site or on a job board, so don't wait for a posting elsewhere. The site is the only notice.
Do Anomaly interns get full-time offers?
Anomaly doesn't publish a conversion rate or describe a return-offer process, and we found no first-hand account of one. Treat any percentage you see elsewhere as unverified. If you're selected, ask about next steps during your interviews, since nothing on the site covers what happens after the 10 weeks.
Set a reminder for March 1, 2027 and check anomalyinterns.com for the form. In the meantime, a remote Externship gives you a finished brand or consumer project to put in your application.
