Air Liquide's 2027 summer internships are open now. Two requisitions on its Workday board, one for engineering and one for non-engineering majors, were live on 25 October 2026, both based in Houston with roles "in multiple locations across the US". They pay $23.00 to $33.00 an hour for a 10-week program and require a 3.2 GPA and US work authorization without sponsorship. Neither lists a closing date, so in plain words you apply this fall to intern in summer 2027. Air Liquide hasn't published 2027 start dates. This guide covers Air Liquide USA only, not the group's internships in France and elsewhere.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week, so one can run alongside your Air Liquide application. The Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis and Private Company Valuation Externship matches the finance track, and the Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship fits the supply chain track. What Is an Air Liquide Internship?

An Air Liquide internship is a paid, 10-week summer program at Air Liquide USA, the US arm of the French industrial gases group. Air Liquide's postings describe a company "present in 80 countries with approximately 66,000 employees" supplying oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen to industries from steel to pharmaceuticals. The early careers page says the program is for students in chemical and mechanical engineering and select business disciplines, with a direct pathway for high performers into the ALLEX rotational program. Airgas, Air Liquide's separate US distribution business, isn't covered here.

When Do Air Liquide Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Air Liquide runs one summer cohort, and its 2027 requisitions are already up. Both show a posting start of 1 September 2026, about 8.5 to 9.5 months before a mid-May to mid-June start; Air Liquide hasn't published 2027 dates. The engineering requisition's path still contains the 2026 name, which suggests Air Liquide reuses the same requisitions each cycle. We couldn't recover posting or closing dates for the 2026 cycle from Air Liquide's own pages.

Applications are open. Both summer 2027 requisitions were live on Air Liquide's Workday board on 25 October 2026, with no closing date. Apply now, and check that your graduation month fits the requisition: May 2028 to May 2029 for engineering, May 2029 for non-engineering.

Apply first, then build proof for the interview: the Attronica FP&A and Private Company Valuation Externship for the finance track, or the Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy Externship for supply chain.
Fall 2026

Review and interviews. Air Liquide doesn't publish its schedule. One Reddit poster held an Air Liquide summer offer in early October 2025, a single community report, so decisions can arrive early in the cycle.

Winter 2026 to spring 2027

Offers and logistics. Interns must secure and finance their own housing and provide their own daily transportation, so plan for Houston or a plant site early.

Summer 2027EXPECTED

Expected: the 10-week program runs in late spring or early summer. Air Liquide hasn't published start dates. Eligible interns "will be considered for the ALLEX program" after graduation.

September 2027EXPECTED

Expected: summer 2028 requisitions reopen, based on this cycle's 1 September 2026 posting start. This rests on one observed cycle, so treat it as an estimate.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Air Liquide's postings are labeled "Evergreen (Open)" and give no closing date, so we can't say whether it reviews on a rolling basis or fills seats on a schedule. The program is small at the role level: a Reddit poster said only one intern was hired in the supply chain role they were offered. Check first that you meet the 3.2 GPA and your graduation month fits, then apply while the requisitions are live rather than waiting for a deadline that may not be announced.

Which Air Liquide Internship Programs Should You Target?

The two requisitions bundle six types of internship. These are the examples Air Liquide lists.

ProgramFocusDurationKey skills
Plant Operations (engineering)Engineering support for daily plant operation, maintenance and process improvements10 weeksChemical or mechanical engineering; plant processes
Technical Support (engineering)Efficiency and continuous improvement projects across a zone; reliability centers10 weeksEquipment reliability, project support
Project Engineer (engineering)Small (under $2M), medium ($2M to $10M) and large (over $10M) projects10 weeksVendor interaction, cost estimation, installation troubleshooting
Finance and Accounting (non-engineering)FP&A, Operations Controls, monthly close and reporting10 weeksBI tools, financial reporting
Supply Chain and Logistics (non-engineering)Continuous improvement project, sourcing events, cost modeling10 weeksData management, analysis, cost modeling
Information Technology (non-engineering)Oracle enhancements, design documents, testing10 weeksOracle, testing, working with end users

Air Liquide lists these as examples of the types of internships available, so the exact team depends on location and fit. See the US early careers page for the program overview.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Both requisitions use the same logistics and work authorization rules.

• Degree: engineering requisition, a bachelor's in engineering (chemical and mechanical); non-engineering, accounting, finance, supply chain, data science, computer science or material science.

• Graduation: May 2028 to May 2029 (engineering) or May 2029 (non-engineering), which means rising seniors and juniors.

• GPA: minimum cumulative 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.

• Work authorization: eligible to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future; Air Liquide can't "consider individuals on time-limited Visa status".

• Logistics: provide your own daily transportation, secure and finance your own housing, and be open to relocating anywhere in the US during and after the program.

Is the 3.2 GPA a Hard Cutoff?

Treat it as one. Both requisitions list "Minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.2" under required qualifications, and the early careers page repeats it. Air Liquide doesn't say whether exceptions exist. Note also that the early careers page lists chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering while the engineering requisition names only chemical and mechanical; the requisition governs.

What Skills Does Air Liquide Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Only two requisitions are live, so we can't count skills across enough postings to chart them. Reading both, the engineering one is built around plant operations, equipment reliability and project work, and asks for prior internship or industrial gas experience as a preference. The non-engineering one names financial close and BI tools, sourcing and cost modeling, and Oracle and testing. Both lists are examples, not fixed jobs.

Note: Two requisitions are too few for a skill chart, which would overstate any single skill. Both postings are summarized above and in the table below. Source: Air Liquide's Workday board, 25 October 2026.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

Each row maps a task from Air Liquide's two requisitions to a remote Externship that produces a finished project.

None of these Externships is affiliated with Air Liquide. Most run about 8 weeks, so one started in November can finish before the spring.

What Is the Air Liquide Application and Interview Process Like?

Air Liquide doesn't describe its interview process, so these steps combine its postings with community reports.

1. Choose the requisition. Engineering and non-engineering are separate postings; apply to the one that matches your degree.

2. Apply on Workday. Use the board link from the US early careers page and check that your graduation date and GPA meet the posting.

3. Interviews. Air Liquide doesn't publish rounds. A current employee said on Reddit that his process engineer interview was mostly fit questions, and another commenter said experiences depend on the location.

4. Plan the summer. Interns arrange their own housing and transportation and must be open to relocating anywhere in the US.

What Students on Reddit Say

Reddit has a few first-hand posts about Air Liquide internships, from 2019 to 2025. They're small samples.

A supply chain junior holding offers from Air Liquide and Phillips 66 said Air Liquide's projects were easier, only one intern was hired in that role, and a return offer wasn't guaranteed because it depended on what was available. A commenter favored Phillips 66 for conversion and pay.

In a 2019 thread, a second-year student with a summer offer was told the internship would show how a large company works: existing systems to build on, internal technical standards and access to subject matter experts.

How Do You Stand Out for an Air Liquide Internship?

First, meet the hard filters exactly: GPA of 3.2 or higher, a graduation date inside the window, and work authorization without sponsorship. Second, show hands-on plant or project exposure. Air Liquide lists prior internship experience and industrial gas experience as preferred, so any plant, lab or manufacturing job helps. Third, make your relocation flexibility explicit, since the requisitions ask for it. Air Liquide says eligible interns will be considered for ALLEX, but it publishes no applicant counts or conversion rate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Air Liquide internship?

No. The 2026 program is over; Air Liquide's early careers page now features its 2026 interns. The requisitions open on 25 October 2026 are for summer 2027: one for engineering and one for non-engineering majors, each with a posting start of 1 September 2026 and no closing date.

Is Air Liquide hiring summer 2027 interns now?

Yes. Two requisitions, 2027 Summer Intern - Engineering and 2027 Summer Intern - Non Engineering, were live on Air Liquide's Workday board on 25 October 2026. Both are based in Houston with roles across the US, and neither states a closing date, so apply soon.

How much do Air Liquide interns make?

Both requisitions list $23.00 to $33.00 per hour. Air Liquide doesn't say how pay is set within that range. Interns must provide their own daily transportation and secure and finance their own housing, so budget for those costs, especially if the placement is away from home.

What GPA do you need for an Air Liquide internship?

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, listed in both requisitions and on the early careers page. Air Liquide doesn't say whether exceptions are made, so treat it as a firm requirement. The ALLEX graduate program uses the same 3.2 minimum.

Can international students apply to Air Liquide's internship?

Not on these requisitions. They require eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future, and Air Liquide says it can't sponsor visas or consider people on time-limited visa status. You don't have to be a citizen if you hold permanent work authorization.

What is the ALLEX program?

ALLEX is Air Liquide's two-year rotational program for recent graduates in engineering, finance, operations and supply chain, with three 8-month rotations on one path. The engineering requisition says eligible interns will be considered for it. That's consideration, not a guarantee, and graduates need the same 3.2 GPA.

Do I need to be an engineering major?

Not for every role. The engineering requisition wants chemical or mechanical engineering students graduating May 2028 to May 2029. The non-engineering one accepts accounting, finance, supply chain, data science, computer science or material science students graduating May 2029, covering finance, supply chain and IT internships.

Where do Air Liquide interns work?

Both requisitions are listed under Houston, Texas (NAM Corporate) with roles in multiple locations across the US, and interns must be open to relocating anywhere in the US. Intern testimonials on the early careers page mention plants in the Houston area, including Bayport, and other US sites.

Air Liquide's 2027 summer requisitions are open now with no closing date, so apply while they're live. If you want a finished project to discuss in the interview, a remote Externship can run alongside your application.
