In this externship program, students will learn strategic consulting skills to analyze and evaluate challenges from non-profit organizations using consulting frameworks, in an overall effort to help them solve their important problems. Selected individuals will be paired with a specific non-profit organization and dive into their strategic problems, such as development, impact assessment, process improvements, talent engagement, communication, and strategic positioning. Throughout this externship program, professionals from PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) will provide mentorship and coaching.
In this remote 8-week experience, you will work alongside The Home Depot's Technology Group to learn how THD serves its professional contractors and why coordinating a complex project across departments can be one of the biggest drivers of lost time. You will build a multi-agent system using public LLM and APIs that simulates agent-to-agent negotiation to produce a single, optimized project plan.
Working with real project inputs, you will prototype a coordinator AI agent that communicates with specialized agents, handling challenges such as inventory constraints and delivery window tradeoffs the way a production system would.
This externship is a strong fit for students with a basic computer science background and familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or C++. You do not need to be a CS major. Students from any field who have built something with code and want hands-on experience with applied AI engineering are encouraged to apply.
