Last updated: October 2026

Zebra Technologies posted ten US summer 2027 internships on its Workday board between 19 and 23 October 2026, and all ten were still open on 26 October. Every posting prints an hourly range, from $24.00 to $40.50, and requires US work authorization without sponsorship now or in the future. None states a closing date. Zebra, the Lincolnshire, Illinois maker of barcode scanners, RFID and rugged mobile computers, reported $5,396 million of net sales for 2025. In plain words, you apply this fall to intern in summer 2027. Zebra hasn't published start dates; the postings describe a 12-week program. This guide covers the US program only. Zebra also posts internships in Singapore, Penang and Sri Lanka.

What Is a Zebra Technologies Internship?

A Zebra Technologies internship is a paid, 12-week summer program at Zebra's US offices in Illinois, New York and New Jersey. Zebra builds barcode scanners, RFID readers, printers and rugged mobile computers, and its careers page describes about 10,700 employees in 57 countries, with about 11% of sales invested in R&D ($593 million in 2025). The postings say the internship is meant to "prepare students for entry into the business world", with training, social and development activities and a professional mentor. Roles span software, engineering, supply chain, analytics, marketing and product.

When Do Zebra Technologies Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Zebra runs one US summer cohort, and its 2027 postings are already up. The ten requisitions show start dates of 19 to 23 October 2026, about 7.5 months before an expected June 2027 start (Zebra hasn't published dates). Last cycle looks earlier: a Zebra event page from 22 September 2025 already linked three "2026 Summer Internship (US)" jobs, so the front edge moved about four weeks later this year. That's weak evidence, not a dated posting, and we couldn't recover exact 2026-cycle posting dates from Zebra's own pages.

Applications are open. Ten US summer 2027 requisitions were live on Zebra's Workday board on 26 October 2026, posted 19 to 23 October, with no closing date. Pick the posting that matches your degree and your graduation window, since the windows differ by role.

Review and interviews. Zebra doesn't publish its stages. Reddit posters from earlier cycles describe a HireVue video interview, then a phone or manager interview, then a recruiter call.

Winter 2026 to 2027EXPECTED

Expected: more US requisitions may appear as other teams add their own. Zebra posts role by role, so check the board again in the new year (low confidence).

Summer 2027EXPECTED

Expected: the 12-week program runs in the summer, likely starting in June. Zebra hasn't published start dates. Interns get a mentor and a calendar of social and development events.

September to October 2027EXPECTED

Expected: summer 2028 requisitions. This rests on two observations (a September 2025 event page and the 19 to 23 October 2026 postings), so treat it as an estimate.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Zebra doesn't say whether it reviews on a rolling basis or when it closes a posting, and no requisition lists a closing date. What we can see is that the 2026-cycle requisitions are no longer on its board, and the ten new ones were only two to seven days old on 26 October. Each team hires for a specific project, so a posting can come down once the team fills it. Apply to the roles that fit now rather than waiting for a deadline that may never be announced.

Which Zebra Technologies Internship Programs Should You Target?

The ten requisitions group into six kinds of internship. Pay is the range printed on each posting.

Each requisition is its own posting with its own graduation window, so read the one you're applying to. See Zebra's careers page for the co-op and rotational programs.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Eligibility is set per posting, but these rules recur across all ten.

• Enrollment: current undergraduate students, and in some postings graduate students, in the degree fields listed on each posting (for example computer science, business analytics, mechanical engineering, marketing).

• Graduation window: differs by role. The software engineer posting wants May 2027, business analyst and marketing insights postings Dec 2027 to 2028, and the mechanical engineer posting 2029.

• Work authorization: you must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. All ten say so.

• GPA: none of the ten postings states a minimum.

• Work model: the two postings we read in full require hybrid work, three days a week in the office.

Does the Graduation Window Decide Who Can Apply?

Yes, more than anything else on the postings. The software engineer role asks for an anticipated May 2027 graduation, which points to graduating seniors, while the mechanical engineer role asks for 2029, which points to sophomores. Matching the window to your own graduation date matters more than any GPA, because Zebra lists no GPA floor.

What Skills Does Zebra Technologies Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Ten requisitions across seven functions are too varied to count skills as percentages. What recurs in the postings we read: Power BI and SQL (preferred for the business analyst), coursework or projects in computer science for software, "basic programming experience" for mechanical engineering, and communication and curiosity about technology in most. The analytics roles also expect you to use AI tools: the business analyst posting names Gemini and Claude for writing SQL and DAX.

Note: Ten requisitions across seven functions are too few and too different for a skill chart, which would overstate any single skill. Source: Zebra's Workday board, 26 October 2026.

What Is the Zebra Technologies Application and Interview Process Like?

Zebra doesn't publish its interview stages, so these steps combine its postings with community reports from earlier cycles.

1. Choose a posting. Each of the ten requisitions is its own role with its own graduation window and pay range.

2. Apply on Workday. Zebra says applications are accepted only through its applicant tracking system. It says it uses AI to evaluate applications against job-relevant criteria and that people make interview and hiring decisions.

3. Video interview. Reddit posters from 2023 and 2024 describe a one-way HireVue interview first. One said the wait after it was about two weeks.

4. Live interviews. Posters describe a phone interview and, for a product management role, a third and final round. Another reported that silence for two weeks after a follow-up meant a rejection.

5. Offer. A 2023 poster who got an offer said the recruiter responded within a day and the offer came shortly after the final interview.

What Students on Reddit Say

Three Reddit threads from 2023 and 2024 cover Zebra's intern interviews. They're small samples from earlier cycles.

A software engineering intern offer-holder said the Zebra recruiter replied within the day and the offer came soon after the final interview. A commenter said their wait after the HireVue was two weeks, and a current employee said they'd recommend the company after two years.

A candidate for the product management internship reached a third and final round. Another candidate for the same role followed up a week after their interview and was rejected, and a commenter read two weeks of silence after the HireVue as a no.

In a short 2024 thread, one commenter said they'd accepted a Zebra offer, and another described the sequence of a HireVue followed by a phone interview.

How Do You Stand Out for a Zebra Internship?

First, apply to the posting that matches your degree and graduation window, since a mismatch is the quickest way out. Second, show a project that looks like the work: a Power BI dashboard or SQL analysis for the analytics roles, a test-automation script for software, a data-cleaning project for supply chain. Third, practice a recorded video answer, because earlier-cycle posters all mention HireVue. Zebra publishes no applicant counts or conversion rate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Zebra Technologies internship?

No. The 2026 summer program has ended and its requisitions are gone from Zebra's Workday board. What's open now is summer 2027: ten US postings published between 19 and 23 October 2026, none with a closing date. Pick the one that matches your degree and graduation window.

When do Zebra summer 2027 internships open?

They already have. Zebra posted ten US requisitions between 19 and 23 October 2026, and all were open on 26 October. That's about 7.5 months before an expected June start. Summer 2028 postings are expected around September to October 2027, though that estimate rests on only two observations.

How much do Zebra interns make?

Each posting prints an hourly range, from $24.00 to $40.50 across the ten. Examples: Software Engineer $29.00 to $33.00, Business Analyst $33.00, Marketing Technology $24.00 to $25.50. Zebra also lists Summer Fridays as applicable and an intern allowance when applicable, without saying what the allowance covers.

Where are Zebra's US internships located?

Lincolnshire, Illinois has six of the ten postings, one of them also listed in Holtsville, New York. Holtsville has three more, and Morris Plains, New Jersey has one. The two postings we read in full require hybrid work, three days a week in the office, so plan for the location.

Can international students apply to Zebra's internship?

Not to these US postings. All ten require authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future, so students who'd need visa sponsorship aren't eligible. Zebra also posts internships in Singapore, Penang and Sri Lanka, which are separate programs outside this guide.

Who is eligible for a Zebra internship?

Current undergraduate students, and in some postings graduate students, in the degree fields each role lists. Each posting sets its own anticipated graduation window, from May 2027 for software engineering to 2029 for mechanical engineering. None of the ten states a GPA minimum, so the window matters most.

What is Zebra's interview process like?

Zebra doesn't publish its stages. Reddit posters from 2023 and 2024 describe a one-way HireVue video interview, then a phone interview, with a final round for some product roles. One reported a wait of about two weeks after the HireVue. Treat these as older, single-person accounts.

Does Zebra offer full-time jobs after the internship?

Zebra doesn't publish a conversion rate. Its careers page lists "full-time rotational programs" next to internships and co-ops, which suggests a path, but it doesn't say how many interns receive offers. Ask your recruiter and your manager about return offers early in the summer.

Zebra's ten summer 2027 postings are open now with no closing date, so apply while they're live. To walk into the interview with a finished project, a remote Externship can run alongside your application.
