Last updated: October 2026
World Vision International runs its U.S. internships in two 13-week cohorts a year, and the one starting 25 January 2027 is recruiting right now: ten intern requisitions were live on its Workday board on 16 October 2026, and eight of them are remote. The next cohort runs 1 June to 27 August 2027, with applications expected in February 2027. In plain words: you apply in fall 2026 for the Spring 2027 cohort, or in February 2027 for Summer 2027. Interns receive an $800 monthly stipend that World Vision says isn't an hourly wage, and applicants must adhere to World Vision International's Christian Statement of Faith.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project with a real organization, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Center for Improving Youth Justice Data Analytics Externship is a nonprofit data project close to World Vision's impact and evaluation roles, and the ARCeH Data Analytics, Health Outcomes Externship builds health-outcomes analysis. What Is a World Vision Internship?
A World Vision internship, as most students mean it, is the 13-week World Vision International (WVI) program for U.S. students and recent graduates, run in Spring and Summer cohorts and mostly remote. WVI is the partnership's global office, and its postings describe an organization with 75 years of experience and 31,000+ staff in nearly 100 countries, inspired by its Christian faith. Interns work on assigned projects, join weekly intern cohort sessions on networking and career coaching, and can ask for academic credit. One name clash matters: World Vision U.S., the Federal Way, Washington national office, is a separate employer. When we checked its careers board on 16 October 2026 it carried no intern requisitions, and other World Vision offices around the world hire interns separately.

When Do World Vision Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
World Vision runs two cohorts a year, each recruited about three to five months ahead, so there is no year-long lead. The internship page lists the Spring 2027 cohort as 25 January to 23 April 2027 with applications in September, and the Summer 2027 cohort as 1 June to 27 August 2027 with applications in February. The ten Spring 2027 requisitions were posted between 28 August and 7 October 2026 (Workday posting dates), about 3.7 to 5 months before the start. Last year's Summer wording was “Late February” in archived copies of the page. Neither page nor postings give a closing date, so treat every window as open until the requisition disappears.
Spring 2027 recruiting is underway: ten U.S. intern requisitions are live, covering digital channels, communications and AI, data analytics, MEAL and child protection, nutrition research, resource development, humanitarian transformation, corporate services and UN policy advocacy. No closing dates are published, so apply rather than wait. You can apply to up to three positions and should say so in your cover letter.
Confirm you live in one of the 20 listed jurisdictions, read the Statement of Faith requirement, and match one to three requisitions to your coursework. If you miss the Spring 2027 postings, use these months to prepare for Summer 2027.
Spring 2027 cohort: 13 weeks, mostly remote, with weekly intern cohort sessions.
Applications for the Summer 2027 cohort expected to open, based on the internship page's own calendar (“Applications: February”) and last year's “Late February” wording. Check the Workday board weekly from late January.
Summer 2027 cohort: 13 weeks, 24 to 40 hours a week per the page's FAQ, remote except for the in-person roles.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
The postings state no closing date and World Vision doesn't say whether it reviews on a rolling basis. The Spring 2027 requisitions have been up for between about nine days and seven weeks, and the Digital Workplace requisition was posted on 7 October. Because ten requisitions are live and each takes a short cohort, a requisition can be filled and removed without notice. Apply as soon as your cover letter and resume match one to three roles, since the page lets you apply to up to three.
Which World Vision Internship Programs Should You Target?
There is one internship program, but each requisition is a separate role with its own team. Three of the ten Spring 2027 requisitions are graduate-only. The groups below summarize the live board on 16 October 2026.
| Program / Track | Focus | Duration | Key skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Digital & communications (3: Digital Channels & Innovation; Emergency Communications Innovation and AI; Digital Workplace) | LinkedIn and YouTube growth, search and AI-search content; AI and automation for emergency communications; SharePoint and Microsoft 365 builds | 13 weeks, 20–40 hrs/wk (Digital Workplace 30–40); remote | Analytics tools, Microsoft 365, writing, workflow thinking |

| Corporate Services | Project coordination, occupancy planning, event and chapel coordination | 13 weeks, 20–40 hrs/wk; in person, Monrovia, CA | Microsoft Office, coordination |
The full list sits on the Workday board. The internship page also names departments that appear in other cohorts, from finance and supply chain to Christian education and social media.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Eligibility comes from the internship page and the ten live requisitions:
• Age and status: at least 18, and a current student or recent graduate within two years. Three requisitions (Impact Data Analytics, Emergency Communications Innovation and AI, Nutrition Research) specify a graduate programme.
• Work authorization: eligible to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizen, permanent resident or F-1 student with valid work authorization) and a valid Social Security Number.
• Residence: remote interns must live in a state where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
• Faith: all ten requisitions require applicants to adhere to World Vision International's Christian Statement of Faith; some roles also mention devotionals and chapel.
• Hours and equipment: at least 20 or 30 hours a week depending on the role (the page says a minimum of 24), your own device, and endpoint security software installed by WVI.

Is There a GPA Requirement?
No GPA figure appears on the internship page or in any of the ten requisitions we read. Some roles list preferred fields of study, and the Digital Workplace posting adds that equivalent skills and a clear interest in the work will also be considered. The firm filters are residence, work authorization, the Statement of Faith and the hours commitment.
What Skills Does World Vision Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Ten live Spring 2027 requisitions give a clear profile. Written and verbal communication appears in the requirements of all ten, and organization and juggling priorities in eight. Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Excel or SharePoint appears in seven, and data analysis or analytics tools in six, with Power BI and SPSS named for the data roles. Several roles favor curiosity about AI and automation. The posting list also shows what isn't there: no coding language is required.
What World Vision looks for in interns

Method: keyword read of the requirements section of each of the 10 live U.S. intern requisitions on World Vision International's Workday board on 16 October 2026, via its public job API. Skew caveat: three requisitions are digital and communications roles from related teams, and each count is a floor because some requirements are phrased without the keyword.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
No remote Externship replaces field experience, but these projects give you finished analysis and communication work that matches the live requirements.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Impact data analysis & dashboards | Impact Data Analytics: “enhancing existing dashboards, analysing quantitative and qualitative data” | Center for Improving Youth Justice Data Analytics |
| Health and nutrition outcomes analysis | Nutrition Research: “analyzing quantitative and qualitative data… using software such as SPSS and Excel” | ARCeH Data Analytics, Health Outcomes |
| Evidence synthesis & learning products | MEAL & CPiE: “review and synthesize research studies, evaluations, assessments” | Center for Improving Youth Justice Data Analytics |
| Audience research & digital content | Digital Channels: “Analyze high-performing LinkedIn content”; audience growth and engagement trends | Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior |
Field work in humanitarian response isn't something a remote project can simulate. What these do give you is analysis you can finish, a short deliverable to show a supervisor, and practice writing for a nonspecialist audience.
What Is the World Vision Application and Interview Process Like?
World Vision publishes the application route but not the interview steps:
1. Search the Workday board. Open the World Vision International board and search "intern". Ignore World Vision U.S. (worldvision.org/careers), which is a different employer.
2. Apply to up to three roles. The page says you can apply to up to three positions and must state that in your cover letter.
3. Interview steps: not published. World Vision doesn't describe rounds, assessments or decision timing.
4. Questions and fraud warnings. Write to internships@wvi.org. World Vision says it never asks for money in recruitment and that legitimate addresses end in wvi.org.
Read the requisition's cohort dates and location line before applying: the in-person roles are in New York and Monrovia, California, and every remote role needs you to live in a listed state.
What the Community Says
We found no first-hand Reddit thread about the World Vision International U.S. intern program: the results were job reposts and lists that mention World Vision, so there are no quote cards here. The internship page carries seven past-intern testimonials, which are the organization's own selection.
How Do You Stand Out?
Three moves. First, match one requisition closely: each role lists specific tools, such as Power BI and Excel for impact analytics or SPSS for nutrition research, so name them and show where you used them. Second, make the cover letter do its job. You can apply to three roles, and the page requires you to say so, so write each letter to its own team. Third, be honest about the faith requirement: all ten requisitions ask applicants to adhere to the Statement of Faith, so read it before you spend time on the application. World Vision publishes no applicant counts or conversion rate.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 World Vision internship?
No. The Summer 2026 cohort ran 1 June to 28 August 2026 and is complete. What's open now is the Spring 2027 cohort (25 January to 23 April 2027), with ten requisitions live on 16 October 2026. Summer 2027 applications are expected around February 2027.
Is the World Vision internship paid?
The requisitions call it unpaid, and World Vision pays every U.S.-based intern a stipend of $800 per month. The organization says the stipend isn't an hourly wage or wages for services and is meant to cover expenses. It also supports academic credit if your school requires paperwork.
When do World Vision internship applications open for summer 2027?
Expected in February 2027, based on the internship page's own calendar, which lists Summer 2027 applications for February and a 1 June to 27 August cohort. Last year's page said late February. Nothing is posted yet, and no closing dates are published for either cohort.
Is the World Vision internship remote?
Mostly. Eight of the ten live Spring 2027 roles are remote, but remote interns must live in one of 20 listed jurisdictions (19 states and DC). Two roles are in person: UN policy advocacy in New York and Corporate Services in Monrovia, California.
Do I have to be Christian to intern at World Vision?
Applicants must adhere to World Vision International's Christian Statement of Faith. The internship page and all ten live requisitions list it as an eligibility requirement, and some roles mention devotionals and chapel. Read the statement and the requisition before applying.
Who is eligible for a World Vision internship?
You must be at least 18, a current student or recent graduate within two years, and eligible to work in the U.S. with a Social Security Number. U.S. citizens, residents and F-1 students with work authorization qualify. Three roles are graduate-only. Hours run 20 to 40 a week.
Is World Vision U.S. the same as the internship program?
No. The internship program is run by World Vision International. World Vision U.S., based in Federal Way, Washington, has its own careers board, which showed no intern requisitions in our 16 October 2026 check. Other World Vision offices around the world also hire interns separately.
Can I apply to more than one World Vision internship?
Yes, up to three positions. World Vision's internship page says you must state this in your cover letter. With ten Spring 2027 requisitions live across data, communications, research, advocacy and operations, matching two or three roles to your coursework is the practical approach.
Spring 2027 is open now, and Summer 2027 is expected in February. Check the Workday board and apply while the requisitions are live, and add proof alongside: a remote Externship gives you a finished project that fits an impact, research or communications role.
