This isn't a summer program. In plain words, you apply this fall for a term that starts between now and January 2027, and none of the six reqs names a summer 2027 start. The roles are posted by SK hynix memory solutions America Inc.; the Korean parent's Global Internship in Korea is outside this guide.

There's no branded intern program in the US: each team posts its own req, from RTL design and SSD firmware to enterprise SSD validation and thermal design. Terms run six months at 40 hours a week. What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

SK hynix sets eligibility per req, and the wording differs between them.

• Enrollment: the ASIC Design, Mechanical Engineer and Research Intern reqs ask for students currently enrolled (the Research req says "progress toward" a degree). The SSD Firmware, QA Test and Product Application reqs also accept recent graduates.

• Degree: electrical or computer engineering for ASIC and firmware, computer science or a related science for QA and product application, mechanical or aerospace engineering for the thermal role.

• Level: the Product Application and QA reqs name a Bachelor's, SSD Firmware names a BS or MS, and the ASIC, Mechanical and Research reqs list BS, MS and PhD students.

• Availability: 40 hours a week for six months (the Mechanical role says six months to a year).

• GPA and work authorization: none of the six postings states a GPA floor or any authorization or sponsorship wording.

Can International Students or Recent Graduates Apply?

Recent graduates can apply to three of the six: the SSD Firmware, QA Test and Product Application reqs say "recently completed" or "recent graduate". For international students, the postings say nothing about work authorization or sponsorship, which isn't the same as a yes. Because each term is full time for six months, ask the recruiter about CPT or OPT timing before you invest in an application.

The postings name specific tools, such as Verilog for the ASIC role, JTAG and C for SSD firmware, and NVMe test cases for QA, so a project that uses them beats a general résumé. Second, show scripting: Python appears in five of six reqs, and two ask for AI-assisted test or design work. Third, say you can commit to six full-time months, since that's the term in every req.
