The Miami Marlins don't run a summer internship. Their Sports Pathways Program is a ten-month internship, and a student waiting for "summer 2027" postings would miss it. The club's own page lists ten departments, from Partnerships and Business Analytics to Photography and Social Media, and the 2025 posting said the internship would end on 31 October, which puts the start around January. On 17 October 2026 the Marlins' board listed no internships. Here's the cycle in plain words: you apply in winter, roughly December 2026 to February 2027, and you start around January 2027 and stay through the season. The club hasn't published dates for the 2027 cohort, so treat that window as expected, not confirmed.

The Marlins' departments ask for CRM and ticketing analytics, social content, partnerships support and creative work, so a finished project helps. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship fits the CRM and analytics internship, and the Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior Externship fits social media and fan engagement. What Is a Miami Marlins Internship?

A Miami Marlins internship is the Sports Pathways Program, which the club describes as a ten-month internship giving college and university students hands-on experience in the business of a Major League Baseball organization. Interns work in the Marlins' front office at loanDepot park, joining one of ten departments and taking on real projects tied to that department's goals. The Marlins hire directly and post on TeamWork Online. Baseball operations roles, such as scouting and video, are posted separately, and the club's Player Development Solutions Analyst Fellowship, open now, is a fellowship for graduates, not an internship. Game-day jobs such as guest experience and security are seasonal jobs, not internships.

When Do Miami Marlins Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

The Marlins' own posting archive shows the program recruiting in winter. A Sports Pathway Internship 2023 posting was in the archive by 23 December 2022. The 2025 posting was published on 8 January 2025 and listed through 28 February, and a 2026 Sports Pathway communications posting was in the archive on 15 February 2026. The club's page calls the program ten months, and the 2025 posting said it ended on 31 October, so the start is about January. That makes the posting-to-start gap short, weeks rather than months, and puts the 2027 window around December 2026 to February 2027.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

The Marlins don't state a deadline, and we have one cycle of evidence, so we can't promise a rolling window. The 2025 posting was listed for about seven weeks, from 8 January to 28 February, and the club asks for a full ten-month commitment, so a late applicant has less to offer a department that has already chosen. Check the board weekly from December and apply in the first week a posting appears. The Marlins don't publish an applicant count, so we can't say how competitive any department is.

Which Miami Marlins Internship Programs Should You Target?

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The Marlins' program page sets these requirements:

• Enrollment: currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program during the program term, or a degree completed within the past 12 months.

• Interest: an expressed interest in business operations or the sports industry.

• Commitment: the full program duration, about ten months.

• Schedule: a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and home games.

• GPA, work authorization and academic credit: not stated on the program page.

Can Recent Graduates Apply?

Yes. The program takes anyone who has completed a degree within the past 12 months, which most internships exclude. The Player Development Solutions Analyst Fellowship, open now, is a different program for graduates. It prefers a completed bachelor's degree in analytics, statistics, computer science or math, and it runs from mid-February through the end of the minor-league season.

What Skills Do the Miami Marlins Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

The program page keeps its asks general: strong communication, organization and teamwork, the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, and a variable schedule. Department descriptions add the specifics, such as CRM and sales support for Business Analytics, content creation for Social Media, game-day photography, and first-level help desk work for IT. The only posting with a named tool list is the open fellowship, which asks for SQL, R or Python.

Note: The Marlins' program page describes ten departments but publishes no per-department requirements, and no internship postings were open on 17 October 2026, so there is nothing to count. The skills above come from the club's program page.

What Is the Miami Marlins Application and Interview Process Like?

The Marlins don't publish an interview format. This is what the club's pages show:

1. Watch the board. The club's jobs page links to individual postings on its TeamWork Online board. Set a job alert from December.

2. Choose a department. The program page lists ten, and the 2025 posting asked applicants which department they'd like to join.

3. Apply on TeamWork Online. The 2025 posting asked for a résumé, an optional portfolio and your preferred department.

4. Interview. Interview steps and timing aren't published.

5. Commit to the full program. The club asks for the full ten-month duration, with evenings, weekends and home games.

The Marlins don't publish pay, class size or offer timing for the program, so ask about pay early in the process.

What Students on Reddit Say

We found no first-hand Marlins internship threads on Reddit. The two threads that came up are job-bot reposts of the club's postings with no comments, which aren't community experience, so there are no quote cards here.

How Do You Stand Out for a Marlins Internship?

Three moves. First, know the calendar. This is a ten-month program that starts around January, so the useful window is December to February, not spring. Second, pick a department and show it. Analytics candidates should show CRM or ticketing data work, social candidates a content portfolio, and photography candidates a gallery. Third, be ready for the schedule. The program page says evenings, weekends, holidays and home games, and it asks for the full ten months. The Marlins don't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate, so treat the internship as the way in and ask about next steps once you're there.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Miami Marlins internship?

No, and there is no summer program to wait for. The Marlins' Sports Pathways Program is ten months and starts around January. No internships were open on the club's board on 17 October 2026. The 2027 cohort is expected to post around December 2026 to February 2027, but the club hasn't published dates.

Is the Miami Marlins internship a summer program?

No. The Sports Pathways Program is a ten-month internship, according to the club's own page. The 2025 posting said the internship would end on 31 October, which implies a start around January. A student who waits for summer 2027 postings would miss the main intake, so check the board from December.

Who can apply for the Marlins Sports Pathways Program?

Students currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program during the program term, or people who completed a degree within the past 12 months. Applicants also need an expressed interest in business operations or sports and a commitment to the full program. No GPA is stated on the club's page.

Are Miami Marlins internships paid?

The club's program page states no pay or stipend. The 2025 posting listed "competitive compensation", health insurance, tickets and gear discounts without an amount. Ask about pay early in the process, because the program asks for a ten-month commitment with evenings, weekends and home games.

Which departments does the Marlins program cover?

Ten: Human Resources, Information Technology, Partnerships, Event Operations, Business Analytics (the CRM & Analytics Intern), Communications, Group Sales & Services, Promotions, Photography and Social Media. Interns are based at loanDepot park, and the IT intern also supports Jupiter and the Dominican Republic academy.

Are any Marlins internships open right now?

No. The Marlins' TeamWork Online board listed no internships on 17 October 2026. The Player Development Solutions Analyst Fellowship is open, posted 14 October and listed through 30 November, but it's a fellowship for graduates who have completed a bachelor's degree, running mid-February to the end of the minor-league season.

Are game-day jobs the same as a Marlins internship?

No. Guest Experience, Ambassador and Security roles on the Marlins' jobs page are seasonal and part-time jobs, not internships. They don't carry the Sports Pathways Program's ten-month structure, departmental projects or student-or-recent-graduate eligibility. Apply to them separately if you want game-day work.

Is this the same as the MLB league-office internship?

No. The Marlins are a club hiring for their own front office in Miami. MLB's league-office program is separate, in New York, with a different calendar; see our MLB internship guide. Other Miami teams, such as the Heat and the Panthers, hire on their own too.

No Marlins internships are open today, and the 2027 cohort is expected to post from about December. Pick a department, set an alert, and if you want a finished project to show, a remote Externship takes about 5 to 10 hours a week.
