JLL Internship 2027–2028: Programs, Deadlines & How to Apply

Last updated: August 2026

JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) is a Fortune 500 commercial real estate firm with $26.1 billion in annual revenue, operations in over 80 countries and a global workforce of more than 113,000, and its internship isn't one program but at least five separate hiring lanes with different pay, different skills and application windows up to fifteen months apart. For summer 2027, the Capital Markets internship in New York posted 14 August 2026 and is live now, a Finance and Accounting req for Chicago posted 24 July 2026 and was already gone by 8 August, and JLL Securities' investment-banking analyst window closed in February 2026.

What Is a JLL Internship?

A JLL internship is a paid placement across commercial real estate services, typically running about 10 weeks between June and August. Tracks span investment sales and debt advisory (Capital Markets), corporate finance (F&A), real-estate M&A (JLL Securities), appraisal support (Valuation & Advisory), building operations (Work Dynamics), and paid trades apprenticeships (HVAC, Electrician, Data Center). And JLL carries a 3.7/5 Glassdoor rating across roughly 12,000 reviews, with an 85% CEO approval for Christian Ulbrich (Glassdoor Best CEOs 2026, #42). But the company doesn't publish a US application calendar. Its early-careers page lists no programs and no dates; the Workday board is the only source of truth.

When Do JLL Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

JLL doesn't publish a US application calendar, and it runs three separate recruiting clocks at once. JLL Securities' investment-banking analyst window opened 31 December 2025 and closed by 20 February 2026, roughly 17 months before the internship. Capital Markets and Finance & Accounting summer internships open roughly 10 months ahead, and they're posting now. But Work Dynamics summer internships post only 2 to 4 months before the June start. And every requisition ends the same way: "Accepting applications on an ongoing basis until candidate identified."

Now · August 2026YOU ARE HERE

Summer 2027 applications are already open at JLL and already partly gone. The Capital Markets Summer 2027 req for New York posted 14 August 2026 and is live. The Finance & Accounting Summer 2027 req for Chicago posted 24 July 2026 and was already off JLL's board by 8 August. The investment-banking summer-2027 analyst window closed in February 2026. Check the board now, not in the fall.

The Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling Externship and Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis Externship are remote, real-company projects that give a CRE application finished work.

~Sep to Nov 2026EXPECTEDROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

More Capital Markets and Finance & Accounting city reqs are expected to post one at a time for summer 2027. Every JLL intern req ends "Accepting applications on an ongoing basis until candidate identified," so there's no deadline; the req just disappears. One summer-2027 req already vanished in about 16 days.

~Feb to May 2027EXPECTED

JLL's Work Dynamics summer internships (property management, project coordination, facilities, technology, sourcing) post late, only a few months before the June start. The 2026 cohort's listings were live into mid-May for a 1 June start. Glassdoor puts JLL intern hiring at an average of 34 days.

Jun to Aug 2027

Capital Markets New York runs 7 Jun to 13 Aug 2027; Finance & Accounting Chicago starts 31 May 2027 for 10 weeks at 40 hours a week. No relocation assistance and no housing. JLL posts requisitions titled "Intern Conversion," and finance interns can move into the 2-year Finance and Accounting Development Program.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

JLL answers the deadline question on its own requisitions: every one ends with "Accepting applications on an ongoing basis until candidate identified." The Finance and Accounting Summer 2027 Chicago requisition posted 24 July 2026 and had already disappeared from JLL's board by 8 August, about sixteen days after it went up. So there's no deadline to miss. There's only a listing that stops existing.

Which JLL Internship Programs Should You Target?

JLL's internship isn't one program. The six tracks below don't share skills, pay, duration or timing, and they recruit on separate requisitions with separate interviews.

See the full list on the JLL Early Careers board. On 15 August 2026, 21 US intern reqs were live, but 17 of those were the same HVAC/Electrician technician template across 11 cities. The 4 corporate professional intern reqs covered Capital Markets (2) and Value & Risk Advisory (2) across 9 cities.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

JLL's eligibility gates are practical and strict:

Work authorization (the hardest gate): "This position does not provide visa sponsorship" appears in 11 of 12 JDs read. The Capital Markets Summer 2027 posting goes further: "Permanent US work authorization." JLL's UK page says the same about UK roles.

Class year / graduation: Capital Markets Summer 2027 wants a rising senior graduating summer 2028. Finance & Accounting accepts spring 2028 or winter 2027 graduation dates. Value & Risk Advisory is different: it requires current enrollment at a local four-year university and runs year-round.

GPA: JLL publishes no GPA cutoff on any US intern requisition. The V&RA postings ask for "outstanding academic achievement," tell you to put your overall GPA on your resume and warn that a transcript may be requested.

Majors: V&RA names finance, real estate, accounting, math, economics and computer science. F&A asks for accounting, finance or real estate (or an adjacent major with accounting coursework). Technician tracks ask for electrical technology, HVAC, mechanical engineering or facilities management.

Location: JLL states "we do not offer relocation assistance or housing for our internship program" in 6 of 12 JDs, and nearly every intern req is on-site. Apply where you can already live.

Does JLL Have a GPA Cutoff?

No, and JLL doesn't publish one on any US intern requisition. Its Value & Risk Advisory postings ask for "outstanding academic achievement" and tell you to put your overall GPA on your resume, but no number appears. What actually gates your application is permanent US work authorization (an absolute requirement in 11 of 12 JDs), class year (Capital Markets wants a rising senior graduating summer 2028), a named major cluster, and being local enough to commute, since JLL pays no relocation or housing.

What Skills Does JLL Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Twelve JLL intern job descriptions, read in full across the 2026 and 2027 cycles, repeat one pattern with unusual discipline. Every single one of those JDs asks you to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team. Nine of twelve name Excel, Word and PowerPoint. And nine name written and verbal communication. But here's the split that separates JLL from a generic CRE employer: the Capital Markets postings name Argus for valuing listings, and in the broader US real-estate intern market, Argus shows up in about 0.5% of postings. So naming it on a JLL application is a genuine differentiator, not a box tick.

Method: full-text analysis of 12 JLL intern job descriptions (2 from the summer-2027 cycle, 10 from the 2026 cycle) read in full on 15 August 2026. Track-mix caveat: JLL's internship spans genuinely different functions, and the chart mixes them. Three of the 12 are Work Dynamics technician apprenticeships (HVAC, Electrician, Data Center) whose real skill list is building systems, NEC/NFPA codes and a refrigerant licence, none of which appears above; three are part-time Valuation & Advisory reqs that share one template. Posting-mix caveat: on the collection date 17 of JLL's 21 live US intern requisitions were that same technician template, so a chart built only from live postings would have described JLL as a trades employer.

August 2026 is this tracker's baseline month, so month-over-month shifts appear at the September update. The early signal: CRE intern hiring runs an early cycle, with 2027 summer requisitions already open, and Excel far outweighs any industry-specific software in what employers actually ask for.

Method: aggregate analysis of US real-estate intern postings via Adzuna and Indeed, August 2026 baseline. Sample indexes under half of all US postings; figures show direction and relative level, not total market share.

How close is the overlap? The Yinan Zhao deliverable is investment analysis in the Capital Markets posting's own vocabulary, and the Attronica project ends in a finished valuation model, the artifact JLL's F&A track rewards with a seat in its 2-year development program.

What Is the JLL Application and Interview Process Like?

JLL's funnel is multi-round and slow:

1. Go to the Early Careers board, not the careers page. JLL's US early-careers page is a brand page with four tiles, no program names and no dates whatsoever. The Workday board is the only place reqs appear.

2. Join the early-career talent network first. Reqs post one city at a time and close the moment JLL identifies a candidate, so you need alerts the day a new req appears.

3. Pick the track, then the city. There's no umbrella JLL internship application. Capital Markets, F&A, V&RA, Leasing/Brokerage, Property Management and the technician tracks are separate requisitions with separate skills and separate pay.

4. Apply online. Glassdoor: 64% of JLL intern candidates got their interview by applying online, 20% through campus recruiting, 10% through an employee referral.

5. Screening and interviews. Across 86 Glassdoor JLL intern interviews: phone interview 22%, one-on-one interview 21%, group panel 14%, skills test 10%, personality test 8%. For Capital Markets, community reports name cash-flow modeling and return metrics: IRR, cash-on-cash, equity multiple.

6. Expect it to be slow. Glassdoor's average time to hire for a JLL intern is 34 days, against 28 days for JLL roles overall. Difficulty is 2.7/5 with 84% positive interview experience across 101 reviews.

There's no standardized online assessment for US interns. JLL's UK process includes a Pymetrics self-recorded video interview and in-person assessment centres, but no source confirms a US equivalent.

How Do You Stand Out at JLL?

Three moves, starting with the calendar. Watch the board weekly and apply the week a req appears. JLL's own closing line is "Accepting applications on an ongoing basis until candidate identified," and the Finance & Accounting Summer 2027 Chicago requisition posted 24 July and was gone by 8 August. So there's no deadline to miss; there's only a req that stops existing. Second, apply to the track in the city you can already live in. JLL posts one req per function per city, states "we do not offer relocation assistance or housing" in six of the twelve JDs read, and marks nearly every intern req on-site. Third, bring Excel at the level the reqs actually name: the F&A posting asks for pivot tables, VLOOKUP and macros by name, both Capital Markets reqs name Argus for valuing listings, and the Leasing req asks for macro-enabled financial models. And across the wider US real-estate intern market, Argus shows up in about 0.5% of postings, so naming it on a JLL application is a genuine differentiator. And that's a real edge when most applicants list the same bullet points.

What Other Companies Should You Consider?

JLL's peers are the big commercial real estate services firms, where calendars and pay run on a similar clock.

  • Cushman & Wakefieldthe third of the big three, about 52,000 people and $9.4bn revenue, with a smaller and more office-led intern classCareers site

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 JLL internship?

No. JLL's summer 2026 internships started 1 June 2026 and ran to 7 August 2026, and those requisitions are gone. But the summer 2027 cycle is open right now: the Capital Markets internship in New York posted 14 August 2026, and part-time Value and Risk Advisory roles are live in nine cities. The investment-banking summer-2027 analyst window through JLL Securities closed back in February 2026.

When do JLL internship applications open for summer 2027?

They're open now. JLL posted its Capital Markets Summer 2027 internship in New York on 14 August 2026 and its Finance and Accounting Summer 2027 internship in Chicago on 24 July 2026. Roles appear one city at a time, roughly ten months before the June 2027 start. And Work Dynamics summer internships are expected around February to May 2027.

Are JLL internships rolling?

Yes. Every JLL intern requisition ends with the line "Accepting applications on an ongoing basis until candidate identified," and none publishes a deadline. The Chicago finance requisition disappeared about sixteen days after it posted. So there's no cutoff to miss, only a listing that stops existing.

What GPA does JLL require for an internship?

JLL publishes no GPA cutoff on any US intern requisition. Its Value and Risk Advisory postings ask for "outstanding academic achievement," tell you to put your overall GPA on your resume, and warn that a transcript may be requested. What's a hard gate is permanent US work authorization.

How much do JLL interns get paid?

JLL's own summer 2027 postings list $25 an hour for the Capital Markets internship in New York and $28 an hour for the Finance and Accounting internship in Chicago, while technician internships list $20 to $30 an hour. JLL states it offers no relocation assistance and no housing, so factor in living costs for on-site roles.

Does JLL sponsor visas for interns?

No. Eleven of the twelve JLL intern job descriptions reviewed state "this position does not provide visa sponsorship, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship," and the Capital Markets summer 2027 posting asks for permanent US work authorization. JLL's UK page says the same about UK roles.

What is the JLL intern interview process like?

Expect several conversations rather than one loop. Across 86 Glassdoor intern reports the common stages are a phone screen, one-on-one interviews and a group panel, with a skills test in about one in ten cases. And it's slow: average time to hire is 34 days, difficulty rates 2.7 out of 5, and 84% of candidates report a positive experience.

What skills does JLL look for in interns?

Across twelve JLL intern job descriptions, Excel, Word and PowerPoint appear in nine, written and verbal communication in nine, and market research in seven. But the real differentiator is what the Capital Markets postings name: Argus for valuing listings, while the finance posting asks for pivot tables, VLOOKUP and macros specifically.

JLL's reqs post one at a time and close the moment someone is hired, so the calendar is the filter. Join the early-career talent network, check the board weekly, and use the runway to finish a remote Externship that turns "I know Excel" into a shipped valuation project a week-one application can point at.
