Last updated: October 2026
The Indianapolis Colts post their internships as one batch, and the window is short. The four December 2025 listings we could read on the Colts' TeamWork board all went up on 22 December 2025 and were listed through 16 January 2026, about 25 days. By mid-January the board held 14 intern roles, from marketing and events to ticket sales, community impact, football development and business analytics. Most full-time roles asked for a bachelor's degree with a graduation date by May of that year, so the class leans toward graduating seniors and recent graduates, while the part-time events role took current undergraduates. As of 17 October 2026 no Colts internship is open: the Social Media Intern listing ended on 16 October. Here's the cycle in plain words: you apply around late December 2026 (expected), and you intern from April or May 2027 through the end of the 2027 NFL season.

Colts internship applications lean on proof of work: the one role we could read in full, Social Media, refused applications without a portfolio link. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy Externship fits content and fan-marketing roles, and the Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship fits ticketing and business analytics. What Is an Indianapolis Colts Internship?
An Indianapolis Colts internship is a front-office role with the NFL club, based in Indianapolis and tied to the football calendar: in the December 2025 class, Events Operations ran "April 2026 through end of the NFL season" and Marketing ran "May 2026 through end of the football season." Roles sit in departments such as marketing, digital media, events, community impact, ticket sales and business analytics, and gamedays at Lucas Oil Stadium are part of the job. The club's internships page points straight to its TeamWork board; this is separate from the NFL league-office program. The Colts don't publish a class size, a pay rate or a program calendar, so everything below comes from the postings themselves.

When Do Indianapolis Colts Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
The Colts run a single annual wave on a short lead, about 3 to 4 months between posting and start. The 2026 class went up on 22 December 2025 and was listed through 16 January 2026 on the four TeamWork postings we could read; the board's January 2026 capture shows 14 intern roles together. Roles started in April (Events Operations) or May (Marketing). One off-cycle role followed: the Social Media Intern, posted 2 September 2026 and listed through 16 October. We have one fully dated wave, so treat late December 2026 as expected, not confirmed.
Nothing is open. The Social Media Intern listing ended on 16 October, and the Colts' board shows three jobs, none of them internships. Use these weeks to build the portfolio and project work the class asks for.
Finish your résumé and portfolio link, check each role's graduation requirement against your own date, and turn on job alerts on the Colts' TeamWork board.
Applications for the 2027 season are expected to open as one batch. In 2025, all four listings we read went up on 22 December, in the middle of the holiday break. Apply in the first days.
The batch is expected to be listed through about mid-January. The 2026 listings ran to 16 January, so a few weeks after posting the window is gone.
The 2027 class is expected to start in April or May and run through the end of the 2027 NFL season. Start dates come from the 2026 postings; the club hasn't posted 2027 dates.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
The Colts' pattern is a short window, not a rolling one. The four December 2025 listings we read shared one posting date (22 December 2025) and one end date (16 January 2026), and the off-cycle Social Media Intern role was listed for 44 days before it closed. TeamWork's end dates aren't always the club's own cutoff, but a posting that has ended on the board is closed to new applications, as the Social Media role is today. The batch also lands over the winter holidays, which is when students tend to look away from job boards. Have your résumé, portfolio and graduation date ready in December and submit in the first week.
Which Indianapolis Colts Internship Programs Should You Target?

|---|---|---|---|

| Content & creative | Graphic Design; Production; Writing & Podcast | Full-time | Adobe Creative Suite, video editing, writing, portfolio |
| Events & community | Events; Events Operations (Part-Time); Community Impact | Events Operations part-time, April 2026 to end of season | Live events and venue operations, Training Camp and gameday setup, lifting up to 40 lbs |

Roles post on the Colts board on TeamWork Online. Other Colts jobs on the board, such as systems and ticket-strategy roles, are separate jobs and not internships, and gameday event-staff work is a separate part-time job.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
The Colts set criteria role by role. These are the rules in the 2026 postings we could read:
• Degree timing: Marketing, Community Impact, Cheer Marketing and Business Analytics asked for a bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a graduation date by May of the start year (2025 or 2026 in the postings we read).
• Current undergraduates: the part-time Events Operations Intern asked for an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree.
• Experience in lieu of a degree: Social Media asked for a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and Digital Marketing & Media asked for a college degree or relevant work experience.
• Location and hours: live within driving distance of Indianapolis for the whole internship, and be free for days, nights, weekends and holidays. Several roles list a valid driver's license.
• Work authorization: the full-time postings ask for authorization to work full-time in the US for the duration of the internship. GPA isn't stated.

Can Current Students Apply?
Some can, and most roles lean toward graduates. Of the six December 2025 postings we read in full, only the part-time Events Operations role was written for a current undergraduate; four asked for a degree by May of the start year. A senior graduating in spring 2027 can apply in the December 2026 batch and start in April or May. Sophomores and juniors have the narrowest path, so check each posting's graduation line before you apply. The 2027 criteria will be in the new postings.
What Skills Do the Indianapolis Colts Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
The postings we read lean on three kits. Content and design: Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro for Social Media, Photoshop for Digital Marketing), video editing and a portfolio. Data: Business Analytics asked for SQL, R and Python and for dashboards in DOMO, Tableau or Power BI, working with Archtics ticketing logic. Gameday readiness: nights, weekends, holidays, long stretches on your feet and lifting up to 40 pounds. Digital Marketing & Media also wanted paid social, SEO and programmatic advertising familiarity.
Note: We read seven Colts postings in full (six from the December 2025 class and the September 2026 Social Media Intern), which is too few to chart skill frequencies. The counts would describe those seven roles, not the 2027 class.

For Colts applicants: the national marketing market is filling now, but the Colts' board listed no internships on 17 October 2026 and posted its 2026 class in late December. Apply to fall-hiring roles elsewhere and keep the Colts as your December target.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill below comes from a Colts posting and maps to a remote Externship you can finish before the December batch.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Content capture and editing | Social Media Intern (Sept 2026): content capture, editing and gameday coverage; applications without a portfolio link not considered | Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy |
| Fan and audience insight | Digital Marketing & Media Intern (2026): customer profiling, segmentation and campaign analysis | Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior |
| SQL, dashboards and ticketing data | Business Analytics Intern (2026): SQL, R, Python; DOMO, Tableau or Power BI; ticketing and pricing strategy | Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy |
| Consumer and market research | Marketing Intern (2026): market research on industry trends and influencer channels | Consumer Behavior Insights with Generous Brands |
Finish the project before December and link it in your application. In a window this short, a finished piece of work stands out in a stack of résumés.
What Is the Indianapolis Colts Application and Interview Process Like?
The Colts don't publish an interview format. Here's what the postings and board show:
1. Set an alert. Turn on "Get Job Alerts" on the Colts' TeamWork board in November so the batch reaches you the day it posts.
2. Match the role to your degree date. Read each posting's graduation line and location line before you apply.
3. Apply on TeamWork. Attach your résumé, and add a portfolio link for any creative or social role.
4. Interview and offer. Interview steps and timing aren't published. Expect questions on the department's work and your availability for days, nights and weekends.
Because the batch lands over the holidays, prepare your materials in early December.
What Students on Reddit Say
We found no first-hand Reddit account of a Colts internship. The only threads were automated reposts of the club's own job postings, which add nothing beyond the postings, so there are no quote cards here.
How Do You Stand Out for a Colts Internship?
Three moves. First, be ready before the batch posts. A 25-day listing over the holidays rewards the person whose résumé, portfolio and graduation date are already sorted. Second, match the role. A Business Analytics applicant who shows a dashboard built on ticketing or sales data reads very differently from one who says they love football, and the Social Media role refused applications without a portfolio. Third, look past the obvious departments. Events, Community Impact and Cheer Marketing postings ask for the same professionalism with fewer fans competing. The Colts don't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate, so treat the internship as the goal and ask about full-time paths while you're there.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a 2026 Indianapolis Colts internship?
No. The Colts' 2026 class was listed from 22 December 2025 to 16 January 2026 on the postings we read, and the off-cycle Social Media Intern role ended on 16 October 2026. The Colts' board showed no internships on 17 October. The next door is the 2027 class, expected around late December 2026.
When do Colts 2027 internship applications open?
They're expected around late December 2026, as one batch. In 2025 the four listings we read all posted on 22 December and ran to 16 January. That's one dated cycle, so set a TeamWork job alert in November instead of waiting for a confirmed date.
When do Colts internships start and end?
The 2026 postings gave April 2026 for the part-time Events Operations role and May 2026 for Marketing, both running through the end of the football season. The Colts haven't posted 2027 dates, so expect April or May 2027 through the end of the 2027 NFL season.
Are Colts internships paid?
None of the Colts postings we read states pay, so we can't give a rate. The Colts' pages don't publish one either. Ask about pay and hours during the interview, and check each new posting for a pay line before you apply.
Do I need to be a college graduate for a Colts internship?
For most 2026 full-time roles, close to yes: they asked for a degree with a graduation date by May of that year. The part-time Events Operations role took current undergraduates, and Social Media and Digital Marketing accepted equivalent experience. Check each posting's wording.
Where do I apply for a Colts internship?
On the Colts' board on TeamWork Online, which the club's internships page links to directly. Turn on job alerts there. Creative and social roles ask for a portfolio link, and the Social Media posting said applications without one wouldn't be considered.
What skills do Colts interns need?
It depends on the department. Content roles ask for Adobe Creative Suite and a portfolio, Business Analytics asked for SQL, R, Python and dashboard tools, and event roles want live-event experience. Nearly every posting asks for availability on days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Do Colts interns get full-time offers?
The Colts don't publish a conversion rate or class size. The 14 roles on the January 2026 board are postings, not hires. Ask about full-time paths, such as ticket sales or digital roles, during your internship, since the club lists those jobs on the same board.
Colts applications are closed until about late December 2026, and that window will be short. Use the weeks in between to build a finished project, and if you want one, a remote Externship takes about 5 to 10 hours a week.
