Last updated: October 2026

H&CO, LLP, the South Florida international tax and accounting firm, takes interns every semester, so there's no single hiring season to wait for. On October 12, 2026, its careers board listed eight US intern postings, and the tax and audit ones say the firm is "currently reviewing applications for the Summer 2026 and Spring 2027 internship cohorts." Summer 2026 has already run, so the cohort you can still get is spring 2027. The postings give no dates. The only published deadlines are in Vault's profile of the program: applications are due "at the end of November and the end of March."

In plain words: you apply by the end of November 2026 to intern in spring 2027, or by the end of March 2027 to intern in summer 2027. The internship is part-time and runs about 16 weeks under the name H&CO Brilliant.

What Is an H&CO Internship?

An H&CO internship is a paid, part-time, in-office program of about 16 weeks at H&CO, LLP, a firm that provides "domestic and international accounting, tax and technology advisory services" and specializes in international taxation. The firm calls the program H&CO Brilliant. Interns work in tax or audit in its South Florida offices (Coral Gables, Brickell and Fort Lauderdale) or in Orlando, and smaller numbers join internal finance, process and trust teams. In Vault's 2026 internship rankings, the program is No. 12 among the Best Accounting Internships and No. 24 on the 150 Best Internships list. Vault's profile says all interns contribute to an internal "Brilliant Project" and lists 51 to 100 interns, a program-wide figure, not a South Florida class size. The firm's careers page says it has ranked among the Top 300 US firms for multiple years.

When Do H&CO Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

H&CO doesn't open and close postings each year. The same intern postings stay on its board, and the cohort names in them get updated: today they read "Summer 2026 and Spring 2027," and summer 2026 is over. The dated part comes from Vault, which lists the application deadline as "the end of November and the end of March." Read against the postings, that means applications for spring 2027 are due at the end of November 2026, and applications for summer 2027 are due at the end of March 2027. If the spring cohort starts in January, the gap from deadline to start is about one and a half months. The postings show no posting date, so we can't measure how these dates move from year to year.

Now · mid-October 2026YOU ARE HEREROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

H&CO is reviewing applications for the spring 2027 cohort right now. Eight US intern postings are live: tax, audit (including one for Orlando), finance, industrial engineering and trust.

Apply first. Both programs are part-time, so the Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling Externship or the Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship can run alongside classes while you wait to hear back.
End of November 2026EXPECTED

Applications for the spring 2027 cohort are due, according to Vault's profile of the program. The postings themselves state no date, so confirm with the recruiter.

Early 2027EXPECTED

The spring 2027 cohort begins: about 16 weeks, part-time, in office. Start dates aren't in the postings. Interns describe early weeks of training lectures and practice returns before client work.

End of March 2027EXPECTED

Applications for the summer 2027 cohort are due, on the same Vault-listed pattern. Expect the postings to name the summer 2027 cohort by early 2027.

Summer 2027EXPECTED

The summer 2027 cohort runs. The cycle then repeats: applications for the spring 2028 cohort are expected to be due at the end of November 2027.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

H&CO's hiring is rolling, with two soft cutoffs a year. The postings never close, state no deadline and say the firm is "currently reviewing applications," which means files are read as they arrive. The cutoffs come from Vault, not from the firm's postings: end of November for the spring cohort and end of March for the summer one. Two things follow. Don't wait for summer. A reader who assumes internships start in June will skip the spring 2027 cohort that's being filled right now. Don't apply a year ahead either. This firm recruits one semester out, so the right time for a summer 2027 seat is early 2027, by the end of March. Earlier in each window is safer, since Vault lists 51 to 100 interns across the whole program.

Which H&CO Internship Programs Should You Target?

H&CO has eight US intern postings live. Tax and audit are the client-facing tracks; the other three sit inside the firm.

ProgramFocusLocationKey skills
Tax Intern (2 postings)Individual and corporate returns, foreign tax filings, research on international tax regulations and treaties, withholding tax recordsSouth Florida: Coral Gables, Brickell, Fort LauderdaleAccounting, finance, business or economics degree underway; Microsoft Office

Trust InternTrust operations: transaction processing, account records, client statements, compliance filingUS; office not statedSalesforce or AccountingSeed is a bonus, not required

All eight are on the H&CO careers board. The board also lists two Accounting Trainee postings based in India; those aren't US internships. Vault's profile adds that interns have also worked in computer science, HR, operations and social media roles.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

H&CO's requirements are spread across its careers page, its postings and Vault's profile:

• Coursework: the careers page asks that you're "currently taking or have taken at least one accounting course."

• Degree underway: tax postings name accounting, finance, business, economics or a related field; audit postings name accounting, finance, business or a related field.

• Class year: not stated in the postings. Vault lists college sophomores, juniors, seniors and recent graduates.

• Skills: the careers page lists "Skilled in Excel" and excellent communication and writing; accounting software experience and Spanish are preferred, not required.

• International students: Vault's profile lists them as eligible. The postings say nothing about sponsorship, so confirm with the recruiter.

• Location: in office in South Florida or Orlando.

Is There a GPA Cutoff at H&CO?

Not in the firm's own words. None of the eight postings names a GPA, and the careers page doesn't either. Vault's profile of the program lists a minimum GPA of 3.00 to 3.49, so treat a 3.0 as the working floor. The firm's own bar is lower than most: one accounting course, taken or in progress, which is why sophomores are in range.

What Skills Does H&CO Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Across the eight postings the shared asks are plain: communication, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and Microsoft Office or Excel. The technical work depends on the track. Tax is built around cross-border work: the postings list "foreign tax filings," research on "international tax regulations, treaties, and updates," and records for "withholding tax requirements." Audit lists "substantive testing and analytical procedures," internal controls and workpapers. The industrial engineering posting asks for "reports and dashboards" on key performance indicators, and the finance posting for reconciliations and budgeting support. An intern quoted on the careers page mentions learning CCH and QuickBooks.

What Is the H&CO Application and Interview Process Like?

H&CO doesn't publish its hiring steps. This sequence comes from the postings and from interns' accounts in Vault's survey:

1. Apply. Use the posting for your track and office on the careers board, or the "Join the program" button on the careers page. One intern met the firm at a campus networking event and applied through a campus portal.

2. Recruiter phone call. An intern described a recruiter asking "brief general questions about myself via phone."

3. Interviews. The same intern had an in-person interview at the office, then a Teams call with the hiring manager. Another reported three interviews, two remote and one in person. An IT candidate got a technical review of their resume before a behavioral round.

4. Offer. Timing isn't published.

Interns told Vault they were asked which of the firm's core values they align with most, what drew them to accounting, and which accounting classes they'd enjoyed or found hard. Our behavioral interview guide covers how to structure those answers.

What Interns Say on Vault

We found no Reddit threads about H&CO, so these cards come from first-hand intern reviews in Vault's survey of the program.

In the first weeks, interns sat in morning lectures on tax concepts and documents, were sometimes quizzed, and then worked through practice returns with an instructor on hand. Another said the duties came to resemble an associate's, from workpapers to a full return.

How Do You Stand Out for an H&CO Internship?

Three moves. First, apply for the semester in front of you. The spring 2027 cohort is under review now, and waiting for a summer posting means waiting for a title that never changes. Second, lead with international interest and languages. The tax postings are about foreign filings, treaties and withholding, and the careers page lists Spanish as preferred. If you've studied abroad, speak a second language or took an international business course, say so early. Third, read the firm's core values before you interview. Interns report being asked which one they align with most. If you aren't an accounting major, look at the finance, industrial engineering and trust postings. H&CO publishes no applicant count or conversion rate; the only size figure is Vault's 51 to 100 interns across the program.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 H&CO internship?

No. The summer 2026 cohort has already run, even though five live postings still name it. The cohort open now is spring 2027, and Vault's profile of the program says applications are due at the end of November. Applications for the summer 2027 cohort are due at the end of March 2027 on the same pattern.

When do H&CO internship applications open for summer 2027?

There's no opening date, because H&CO's intern postings stay on its board year-round. What matters is the cutoff: Vault lists deadlines at the end of November and the end of March. For the summer 2027 cohort, plan to apply in early 2027 and no later than the end of March 2027.

Does H&CO hire interns on a rolling basis?

Yes. The postings say the firm is currently reviewing applications and give no closing date, so files are read as they arrive. Vault's profile lists two cutoffs a year, the end of November and the end of March. Applying early in each window is the safer choice, and it's worth confirming dates with the recruiter.

What is H&CO Brilliant?

It's the name of H&CO's internship program. Interns do client work in tax or audit, or join internal teams, for about 16 weeks part-time. Vault's profile says the program rests on cultural transmission, meaningful work and professional development, and that every intern contributes research and ideas to an internal assignment called the Brilliant Project.

What GPA do you need for an H&CO internship?

H&CO's postings and careers page name no GPA. Vault's profile of the program lists a minimum of 3.00 to 3.49, so treat 3.0 as the working floor. The firm's own stated requirement is that you've taken, or are taking, at least one accounting course, which puts sophomores in range.

How much does H&CO pay interns?

H&CO doesn't publish intern pay, and none of its eight US postings states a rate. Vault lists the program as paid. In Vault's survey, one intern called the pay slightly below the Big 4 and said interns were offered health, dental and vision insurance. Treat that as a community report, and ask the recruiter.

What is the H&CO interview process like?

Interns in Vault's survey describe a short recruiter phone call, then an in-person interview at the office and a Teams call with the hiring manager. One reported three interviews in total. Questions included which of the firm's core values you align with most and what drew you to accounting.

Do H&CO interns get full-time offers?

H&CO doesn't publish a conversion rate. Vault ranks the program No. 21 for employment prospects in its 2026 internship rankings and describes it as a potential pathway to a full-time position. One intern wrote that many interns received offers to return, while an IT intern felt tax and audit interns came first.

H&CO is reviewing spring 2027 applications now, and summer 2027 applications are due at the end of March 2027. While you wait to hear back, a remote Externship gives you a finished financial analysis or process project to bring to the interview.
