In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and at GM Financial the door opened in mid-September.

Every role runs the same 11 weeks, May 26 to August 6, 2027. Thirty are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (Fort Worth, Arlington and Irving) and one is in Detroit, mostly on a hybrid schedule of two office days a week. When Do GM Financial Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

GM Financial posted its summer 2027 wave between September 16 and October 1, 2026, about eight months before the May 26, 2027 start, and the wave was still growing in late September. Past cycles show interviews running long after posting: software intern candidates described final rounds in late November and December 2024, another final round in February 2025, and interviews in January 2026. The separate Sophomore Leadership Internship posted in early 2026 last cycle, so expect its 2027 version around January to March 2027 (low confidence). Summer 2028 applications are expected in mid-September 2027.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

GM Financial fills on a rolling basis. Twelve postings say they're "posted until filled," and none states a deadline. The job system does carry scheduled end dates, though, and the technology roles come down first: October 17 for three software engineering postings, the business systems analyst and the Oracle developer, then October 23 and 24. Those dates sit exactly 30 days after posting, which looks like a posting policy that can be extended. Don't count on an extension. Is the 3.0 GPA a Hard Cutoff at GM Financial?
