Last updated: October 2026
Edgeworth Economics hires interns, but it hasn't posted a summer 2027 internship yet. On October 12, 2026, the Washington, DC economic consulting firm's job board listed three full-time roles and no internship. Its careers FAQ says, "We hire interns for various positions at different points throughout the year," and its Great Place To Work profile shows a 2025 summer intern class.
In plain words: you apply during the 2026 to 2027 school year, and you intern in summer 2027. The firm announces no date. Archived copies of its board show an Economic Consultant Intern posting published on December 30, 2020 and another on November 22, 2021. On that pattern, a posting for summer 2027 is expected between late November 2026 and January 2027. Treat that as low confidence: it rests on postings from five and six years ago.
What Is an Edgeworth Economics Internship?
An Edgeworth Economics internship is a full-time role supporting economic consultants in Washington, DC. The firm's last archived intern posting, titled Economic Consultant Intern, listed analyzing economic, financial or employment data "using spreadsheets, programming, model building, and regression analysis," plus research on industries and academic literature. Edgeworth describes its work as "the application of microeconomics to business issues," mostly expert testimony in litigation over antitrust, class certification, intellectual property, and labor and employment. It's small: 84 US-based employees, according to its Great Place To Work profile, updated November 2025. Vault ranks it #20 on its 2026 list of the Best Consulting Firms for Economic Consulting. The firm names law firms, government agencies and companies such as Samsung, Google and Bloomberg among its clients.

When Do Edgeworth Economics Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Edgeworth doesn't publish a recruiting calendar, so this section shows the evidence. Archived copies of its job board contain two dated intern postings: one published on December 30, 2020 and one on November 22, 2021. Each was still live about two months later. If those were for the following summer, the lead time was about 5 to 6.5 months before a June start; the postings didn't state a term. Older campus notices from 2015 and 2016 show the firm recruiting interns at universities in September and October. The recent record is thin. The archived board copies we could read from 2022 through May 2026 show no consulting intern posting, including four copies from mid-November to mid-December 2025. A 2025 summer class did exist, so a posting appeared at some point we can't see.
Applications for summer 2027 aren't open. The board lists three full-time roles (Economic Consultant, Senior Consultant, Accounting & Finance Analyst) and no internship. The firm's FAQ says interns are hired at different points in the year.
Get the file ready: resume, cover letter, unofficial transcript and a quantitative writing sample. Check the Open Positions page every week or two, since the firm posts without notice.
An intern posting for summer 2027 is expected in this window, projected from postings published on November 22, 2021 and December 30, 2020. Low confidence: we found no intern posting in archived board copies from November and December 2025.
Interviews for summer 2027, if the old pattern holds. The firm describes a phone interview, then interviews with junior and senior staff, with a case study in the final round. Both archived postings were still live in late January or later.
The internship, in Washington, DC. The firm doesn't publish dates or a length; its 2021 posting required 40 hours a week, and its Great Place To Work profile pictures a 2025 summer intern group.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
We can't read Edgeworth's urgency from a live posting, because there isn't one. What the record shows is closer to rolling than to a hard deadline. The archived November 2021 intern posting stated no closing date, and both archived postings stayed up for about two months. Two things still argue for applying in the first week. The firm is small, with 84 US-based employees, so an intern class can't be large, and it publishes no class size to tell you how many seats exist. It also posts without a public announcement, so the people who apply first are the ones who were already checking. One older data point cuts the other way: a 2016 campus notice set an October 7 deadline for intern and entry-level applications at one university. If a campus deadline appears at your school, it governs.
Which Edgeworth Economics Internship Programs Should You Target?
Edgeworth has one consulting internship for undergraduate and master's students. The other rows are separate tracks that are easy to mix up with it.
| Role | Who it's for | Last dated evidence | Status on October 12, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economic Consultant Intern | Bachelor's and master's students in economics, statistics, mathematics or similar | Postings published December 30, 2020 and November 22, 2021; a 2025 summer class is confirmed | Not posted |
| Economic Consultant (full-time, not an internship) | New graduates with a bachelor's degree and a minimum 3.5 GPA | Published August 31, 2026; $88,000 to $95,500 base salary | Open |
| PhD Summer Symposium (not an internship) | Third- and fourth-year PhD candidates | Posted March 2023 for the week of June 19, 2023 | Not posted |
| Economist, PhD (full-time) | New PhD graduates | Posted in late 2025 for a 2026 start | Not posted |
| Marketing & Communications Intern | Marketing or communications students; part-time, paid | Posted March 2023 | Not posted |
The undergraduate internship and the PhD programs are different doors with different calendars, so check which one fits you. Everything the firm is hiring for appears on the Open Positions page.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
No 2027 intern requirements are published. These come from the archived November 2021 intern posting and the firm's current FAQ:
• Degree (2021 posting): "Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar discipline; preferably a junior or senior."
• GPA (2021 posting): "Minimum 3.5 GPA." The current full-time Economic Consultant posting uses the same line.
• Hours (2021 posting): "Commitment to work 40 hours per week."
• Materials: a resume, cover letter, unofficial transcript and relevant writing sample. The FAQ warns that incomplete applications aren't considered.
• Profile: the FAQ's ideal candidate is "detail-oriented with an understanding of statistics" and able to "perform or quickly learn to perform rigorous empirical analysis."
• Work authorization: not addressed in the postings or the FAQ.

Is the 3.5 GPA a Hard Cutoff at Edgeworth Economics?
Treat it as one. Both the 2021 intern posting and today's entry-level posting write it as a minimum, not a preference, and the firm asks for a transcript with every application. We found no statement about exceptions. Keep in mind the intern requirements are five years old, so the next posting could differ. The full-time posting also names statistical software, "SAS or Stata, R, SQL, Python a plus," which the 2021 intern posting didn't require but which tells you what the work uses.

What Skills Does Edgeworth Economics Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Economic consulting is applied statistics for legal disputes, and Edgeworth's postings read that way. The archived intern posting and the two live consultant postings all list data analysis with spreadsheets, programming, model building and regression analysis, research on "industry trends, market structures, and academic literature," and summarizing reports, client documents and trade press. The consultant postings add statistical software ("SAS or Stata, R, SQL, Python a plus"), "strong knowledge of statistics" and "strong writing ability," and they have staff prepare "economic and statistical models for expert reports and testimony." Every posting requires a writing sample.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill maps to a remote Externship that leaves you with a finished, explainable project.

Pick the one where you'll write up your own analysis. Past candidates say interviewers asked detailed questions about their research, so a project you can defend line by line is the point.
What Is the Edgeworth Economics Application and Interview Process Like?
Edgeworth describes its process in its careers FAQ. It's written for all roles, not interns specifically:
1. Apply online. Use the Open Positions page; you'll create a username and password. Submit a resume, a cover letter that states your geographic preference, an unofficial transcript and a writing sample.
2. Phone interview. Expect "several behavioral-based and technical-related questions."
3. Second round. In-person interviews at the office with "a mix of both junior and senior staff."
4. Final round. More behavioral and technical questions, plus "a case study component."
5. Nothing posted. The FAQ invites a general application: email a resume, cover letter and unofficial transcripts to careers@edgewortheconomics.com.
Past intern candidates on Glassdoor, writing between 2014 and 2018, described shorter processes of one to two weeks with video interviews. Our behavioral interview guide covers the behavioral half.
What the Community Says
Public first-hand accounts of this internship are scarce and mostly old. One recent Reddit thread and two dated Glassdoor interview reports are the best available; we don't link Glassdoor because it sits behind a login.
A rising senior applying to economic consulting firms said it's hard to find much about Edgeworth beyond its own website. The one reply came from someone with an interview there the following week.
A summer analyst who accepted an offer said they applied online, had a phone interview with HR, then a final video interview with a consultant and a principal. The questions were all behavioral, and the offer came a week later.
A candidate who came through campus recruiting was interviewed within a week of submitting a resume and said the interviewers asked very specific questions about their research.
How Do You Stand Out for an Edgeworth Economics Internship?
Three moves. First, have a quantitative writing sample ready before the posting appears. The firm requires one, and a past candidate said interviewers had read theirs and asked about the project in it. Second, be able to defend your own analysis. Know why you chose each specification in any regression on your resume, because candidates report detailed questions about their research. Third, clear the stated bar and send a complete file. That means a 3.5 GPA, an economics, statistics or mathematics background, and every document the FAQ lists. If you're near Washington, watch for a fall open house: the October 2025 event was the firm's third annual one, aimed at graduating students, and a 2026 date isn't confirmed. Edgeworth publishes no applicant count, class size or conversion rate.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Edgeworth Economics internship?
No. Summer 2026 has passed, and no internship is posted as of October 12, 2026. The next cycle is summer 2027, which isn't posted yet either. Based on older postings, it's expected between late November 2026 and January 2027. Until then the firm accepts general applications at careers@edgewortheconomics.com.
Does Edgeworth Economics have internships?
Yes. The firm's careers FAQ says, "We hire interns for various positions at different points throughout the year," and its Great Place To Work profile shows a group of 2025 summer interns. The consulting internship has been titled Economic Consultant Intern. No intern role is on its board as of October 12, 2026.
When do Edgeworth Economics internship applications open for summer 2027?
No date is published. Archived copies of the firm's board show intern postings published on December 30, 2020 and November 22, 2021, so a posting for summer 2027 is expected between late November 2026 and January 2027. That's a low-confidence projection from old data; check the Open Positions page regularly.
What are the requirements for an Edgeworth Economics internship?
Requirements for 2027 aren't published. The November 2021 intern posting asked for a student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics or a similar field, preferably a junior or senior, with a minimum 3.5 GPA and a commitment to 40 hours a week, plus a writing sample.
How much does Edgeworth Economics pay interns?
Edgeworth doesn't publish intern pay, and the archived 2021 intern posting carried no pay line. What is the Edgeworth Economics interview like?
The firm's FAQ describes three stages: a phone interview with behavioral and technical questions, in-person interviews with junior and senior staff, and a final round that adds a case study. Past intern candidates on Glassdoor, from 2014 to 2018, described video interviews and detailed questions about their own research.
Where is the Edgeworth Economics internship located?
Washington, DC. It's the only office the firm lists today, at 1111 19th Street NW, and all three roles on its board are in Washington with a hybrid schedule. Postings and interview reports from 2016 to 2018 also named California offices, but those aren't on the firm's site now.
What should I do if no Edgeworth Economics internship is posted?
Send a general application. The firm's FAQ says that if a position isn't posted there's no current opening, but you can email a resume, cover letter and unofficial transcripts to careers@edgewortheconomics.com to be considered for future opportunities. It also recommends checking the careers page for new openings.
Edgeworth hasn't posted a summer 2027 internship yet, so the work right now is preparation: a clean transcript, a writing sample and a project you can defend. A remote Externship gives you real data analysis to build that sample from.
