Chartis's summer 2027 internship is open, but you won't find it on the firm's jobs page. On October 12, 2026, the posting "Consulting Intern - Summer 2027 (Undergrad)" was live in Chicago on the firm's applicant system, in a department called Campus Interns. It's unlisted: the public Chartis jobs board showed 42 roles that day and none was an internship. Students reach the posting through campus channels such as a school career site or WayUp, where it has been listed since August 26, 2026. The posting names no deadline. It asks for juniors graduating in spring or summer 2028 who can be based in Chicago for the summer. In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, and you intern in summer 2027.

What Is a Chartis Internship?

A Chartis internship is a summer consulting role at Chartis, a healthcare advisory firm based in Chicago. Undergraduates join as Summer Analysts and MBA students as Summer Consultants. Each intern works on one client engagement for the whole summer and gets, in the posting's words, "their own individual stream of work" that approximates the full-time job. The posting says the firm has "more than 1,450 professionals" and works with "more than 1,900 organizations annually," including providers, payers, technology companies and investors. Its brands are Chartis, Jarrard, Greeley and HealthScape Advisors, all "100% focused on healthcare." Chartis ranks #27 on the 2026 Vault Consulting 50 North America. The internship is the firm's campus hiring route: the posting sets out full-time pay and location terms "following a successful internship." This Chartis is the healthcare consultancy, not the former AIG insurance brand of the same name.

When Do Chartis Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Chartis doesn't announce an opening date, and the dates we have come from three different clocks. The summer 2027 undergraduate posting carries a June 24, 2026 publish date in the firm's applicant system. Students could first see it on campus boards in late August: the MBA role reached Yale SOM's board on August 21, 2026, and the undergraduate role reached WayUp on August 26. That's about nine and a half months before a typical June start, though the posting gives no start date. Last cycle, the summer 2026 undergraduate listing reached WayUp on September 24, 2025, so this cycle ran about a month earlier on the same board. That's one board and two data points, so read it as a modest shift. If it holds, applications for summer 2028 are expected to reach campus boards between late August and late September 2027.

Now · October 2026YOU ARE HEREROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

Applications for summer 2027 are open right now. The undergraduate posting is live but unlisted and names no deadline. The MBA role is on campus boards.

Apply first. Alongside it, the TruBridge Healthcare Data Analytics Externship or the Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship gives you a finished data project to talk about in interviews.
October to November 2026EXPECTED

Interviews for summer 2027 are expected in this stretch; the posting gives no dates. Decide your two practice preferences, and practice a standard business case plus a data case in Excel.

November 30, 2026

Yale SOM's listing for the summer 2027 MBA role expires. That's the school board's date, not a deadline in Chartis's posting, and other schools may show a different one. MBA candidates should treat it as the latest safe day.

December 2026 to April 2027EXPECTED

The summer 2027 undergraduate posting may stay up. Last cycle's listing stayed on WayUp until April 7, 2026, by WayUp's own record. Don't count on a late seat: a posting with no deadline can come down any day.

Summer 2027

The internship: one engagement for the whole summer, in Chicago for undergraduates and Chicago or New York for MBAs. The posting states a full-time base from $85,000 for campus hires after a successful internship. Summer 2028 postings are expected on campus boards from late August 2027.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Chartis is rolling in practice. The undergraduate posting has no deadline in its text, and the deadline field in the applicant system is empty. Two things make early better. First, the posting is unlisted. The firm can withdraw it without any visible change on its public jobs page, and you'd only find out when the link stops working. Second, the calendar moved earlier. The listing reached WayUp on August 26 this cycle, against September 24 last cycle. The one hard date in view sits on a school board: Yale SOM's listing for the MBA role expires November 30, 2026. That's Yale's listing date, not Chartis's deadline, and your school's board may show a different one. Whichever board you use, apply through it this week.

Which Chartis Internship Programs Should You Target?

Chartis keeps undergraduate and MBA interns on separate postings. Undergraduates rank two of three options on one application; MBAs rank two on theirs. We found no PhD track and no program for sophomores or first-years.

The undergraduate posting opens at this direct link on chartis.com. We confirmed the MBA role on Yale SOM's career board only, not on Chartis's own system, so MBA students should check their own school's board.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The summer 2027 postings set these rules:

• Class year, undergraduate: "students in their junior year graduating in spring/summer 2028." That means rising seniors in summer 2027.

• Degree, undergraduate: "Undergraduate degree required." No major is named.

• MBA track: a first-year MBA student graduating in spring or summer 2028, with "at least 3 years of healthcare and/or consulting experience, with a focus on data and analytics."

• Skills: "Comfortable manipulating and synthesizing large amounts of data" and "intermediate Excel skills; proficient in using PowerPoint and Word."

• Location and travel: "Being based in our hub office of Chicago is required for the summer internship period," plus "flexibility to travel as required."

• Work authorization: not covered in the posting. WayUp's listing includes a visa sponsorship screening question, so expect to be asked.

Is There a GPA Cutoff at Chartis?

No GPA appears in either posting. The screens Chartis does write down are different: class year (juniors only for the undergraduate role), a summer in Chicago, comfort with data, and "intellectual curiosity about improving health care delivery." That last line matters. Employees told Vault that behavioral questions ask about your interest in healthcare, so a strong transcript with no healthcare story is a weaker application than it looks. The posting also asks for experience "working and leading in a team environment."

What Skills Does Chartis Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

We read the two summer 2027 intern postings and five consultant-level postings on Chartis's board. They share one block of responsibilities almost word for word: "gather and refine complex data sets," run "quantitative analyses," weigh in on "hypotheses under consideration," and build "multi-issue client communications." Healthcare knowledge shows up in every one. On tools, the undergraduate posting asks for intermediate Excel plus PowerPoint and Word, and three consultant postings add that "experience with Tableau is a plus." None of the seven asks for Python, R or SQL. Chartis hires for structured analysis and clear client writing about healthcare, not for coding.

What Is the Chartis Application and Interview Process Like?

Chartis's posting describes the application but not the interviews. The interview detail below comes from employee reviews on Vault, which are undated and not intern-specific.

1. Reach the posting. Use the direct link, your school's career site or WayUp. The public jobs board doesn't list it. The application opens on chartis.com.

2. Rank two preferences. The posting says to "be prepared to rank your top two preferences" among Generalist, Private Equity and HealthScape Payer Transformation.

3. Pick one if you're selected for more than one. You "will be asked to select your top choice prior to first round interviews."

4. Interviews. Employees told Vault the process is "one behavioral and one case interview," with a callback about a week later. Another review mentions standard business cases plus "an Excel-based data case."

5. Offer. Offer timing isn't published.

The real application lives on chartis.com, so don't send details to any other site that claims to recruit for Chartis. For the behavioral round, our behavioral interview guide covers the STAR method.

What Chartis Employees Say on Vault

We found no first-hand Chartis intern or applicant account on Reddit, so these cards paraphrase employee reviews on Vault. They're undated and come from employees, not interns.

One employee called the interview process very typical: one behavioral interview and one case interview, with a callback about a week later. They said the firm looks for strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Another described typical business cases, such as profitability or new market entry, plus an analytical case done in Excel. Behavioral questions covered interest in healthcare and experience working on teams and with clients.

How Do You Stand Out for a Chartis Internship?

Three moves. First, choose your two preferences before you open the form. Generalist covers strategy and performance projects. Private Equity and HealthScape Payer Transformation are narrower, and full-time Analysts on those two must live in Chicago or New York, while Generalists get geographic flexibility. Second, bring a real healthcare reason. The posting asks for "intellectual curiosity about improving health care delivery," and employees say interviewers ask about it. A class project, a hospital volunteer shift or a healthcare data project all work if you can explain what you learned. Third, practice the data case. The posting wants "intermediate Excel skills," and employees describe an Excel-based case next to the standard one. Chartis publishes no applicant count, class size, intern pay or conversion rate, so don't trust a number you see quoted elsewhere.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Chartis internship?

No. The summer 2026 undergraduate posting no longer resolves on Chartis's applicant system, and WayUp marks that listing closed as of April 7, 2026. The open door is summer 2027: the undergraduate posting was live on October 12, 2026, and the MBA role was listed on Yale SOM's career board the same day.

When do Chartis internship applications open for summer 2027?

They're already open. The summer 2027 undergraduate role reached WayUp on August 26, 2026, and the MBA role reached Yale SOM's board on August 21, about nine and a half months before a typical June start. Last cycle's listing reached WayUp on September 24, 2025, so expect summer 2028 postings from late August 2027.

Why isn't the internship on the Chartis jobs page?

Chartis runs it as an unlisted posting. The public jobs board showed 42 roles on October 12, 2026, with no internship among them, while the summer 2027 undergraduate posting sat in a separate Campus Interns department. Reach it through the direct link on chartis.com, your school's career site or WayUp.

Is there a deadline for the Chartis internship?

Chartis's posting states none, and the deadline field in its applicant system is empty. Yale SOM's listing for the MBA role expires November 30, 2026, but that's the school board's date, not a Chartis deadline. Treat the process as rolling and apply early, because an unlisted posting can be withdrawn without notice.

How much do Chartis interns make?

Chartis doesn't publish intern pay; WayUp tags the role as paid. The summer 2027 posting instead states the full-time base after a successful internship: from $85,000 for undergraduate campus hires, plus a possible discretionary bonus. The MBA listing says from $155,000. Last cycle's undergraduate posting said $87,000. Don't read any of these as intern pay.

Who is eligible for the Chartis internship?

The undergraduate role is for juniors graduating in spring or summer 2028 who can be based in Chicago for the summer. No major or GPA is named. The MBA role is for first-year MBA students graduating in spring or summer 2028 with at least three years of healthcare or consulting experience. We found no sophomore program.

What is the Chartis interview like?

The posting doesn't describe it. Employees told Vault to expect one behavioral interview and one case interview, with a callback about a week later, and one review mentions an Excel-based data case alongside standard business cases. Those reviews are undated and not intern-specific, so use them as a guide, not a script.

Does a Chartis internship lead to a full-time offer?

Chartis doesn't publish a conversion rate. The posting treats the internship as the campus hiring route: it gives full-time salary and location terms "following a successful internship." Generalist Analysts get geographic flexibility after joining, while Private Equity and HealthScape Payer Transformation Analysts must be based in Chicago or New York.

Chartis's summer 2027 posting is open, unlisted and has no stated deadline, so apply through the direct link or your campus board now. Then build your healthcare story: a remote Externship gives you a finished healthcare data project to bring to the interview.
