The Baltimore Orioles' only student-eligible posting on 17 October 2026 is a seasonal Data Scientist Fellow in Baseball Analytics, paying $20 an hour and open to people currently enrolled in, or who have completed, a bachelor's degree. It was posted on 30 September and is listed through 31 March 2027. The summer-style internships run on a different calendar: the club's Creative Video Internship was posted on 15 January 2025 for "all summer/seasonal interns" at $15 an hour. In plain words: analytics applicants apply now, and business-side applicants should expect summer 2027 postings around December 2026 to January 2027, then intern in summer 2027.

# ProgramsTwo open fellow roles (baseball analytics and domestic scouting) and a summer/seasonal intern wave that isn't posted yet

One student-eligible fellow role was open on 17 October 2026 at $20 an hour. Summer 2027 business-side internships aren't posted and are expected around December 2026 to January 2027.

The Orioles' analytics fellow wants models built in R or Python, and the creative interns need a portfolio, so a finished project helps. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship fits the data roles, and the Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy Externship fits creative and content work. What Is a Baltimore Orioles Internship?

A Baltimore Orioles internship is a paid, mostly part-time role with the MLB club's front office in Baltimore. Two kinds are posted. Seasonal fellowships in baseball operations, such as the Data Scientist Fellow and the Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow, appear in the fall and pay $20 an hour. Summer and seasonal interns on the business and creative side have appeared around January, like the 2025 Creative Video Internship at $15 an hour. TeamWork Online labels the Data Scientist Fellow an internship, though the Orioles call it a fellowship, and we use their wording. Gameday event staff and Florida event staff roles are seasonal jobs, not internships.

When Do Baltimore Orioles Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

The Orioles run two clocks. The analytics fellowships post in the fall: the Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow was first published on 31 August 2026, and the Data Scientist Fellow went up on 30 September. The summer and seasonal interns follow a winter calendar, but we have a single dated example: the Creative Video Internship was posted on 15 January 2025, listed through 31 May 2025, and told applicants the Orioles wanted to fill it ASAP. Projecting from that one posting, summer 2027 internships are expected from about December 2026 to January 2027, roughly 5 months before June. Treat the date as low confidence.

Applications for summer 2027 internships are expected to post around December 2026 to January 2027. The 2025 equivalent went up on 15 January 2025 and said the Orioles wanted to fill it ASAP, so apply the first week.

March 2027EXPECTED

The Data Scientist Fellow listing on TeamWork Online runs through 31 March 2027, which is the last date shown for that role.

Summer 2027

Summer and seasonal interns would work the 2027 season. The Orioles haven't published start or end dates.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

The Orioles post no deadlines, and the one summer-style posting we can read told applicants the club wanted to fill the role ASAP. That's the language of rolling hiring, where the first strong applicants are seen first. The fellow listings also come down when filled, so apply now rather than near the 31 March 2027 listing date. For summer 2027 business internships, have your résumé, cover letter and any portfolio ready by December so you can apply the week one appears.

Apply through the Orioles careers page. The Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow is also on the Orioles' Greenhouse board.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Eligibility depends on the role:

• Data Scientist Fellow: desired is a bachelor's in statistics, analytics, operations research, mathematics, computer science or equivalent, either in progress or completed, plus SQL and R or Python.

• Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow: the posting states no student or degree requirement. Proficiency with Excel and SQL is preferred.

• Creative interns (2025 posting): proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, with coursework or experience in video preferred, and a cover letter, portfolio and résumé.

• Location and hours: in person in Baltimore, with evenings, weekends and holidays expected.

• Work authorization: the Data Scientist Fellow application asks whether you're authorized to work in the U.S. and whether you'll need sponsorship.

• GPA and academic credit: not stated.

Is a Fellowship the Same as an Internship?

For application purposes, close. TeamWork Online files the Data Scientist Fellow under intern level, and it welcomes people currently enrolled in or who have completed a bachelor's, so students and recent graduates can both apply. But it's a part-time seasonal job, not a rotational summer class, and the scouting fellow posting asks for no student status at all.

What Skills Do the Baltimore Orioles Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

The two open postings share a data core. Modeling and statistics: the Data Scientist Fellow builds interpretable predictive models in R or Python, and the posting asks for an understanding of statistics and statistical models. Data handling: it also covers SQL queries, fixing data quality issues and bringing in new data sources, and the scouting fellow prefers Excel and SQL. Communication and availability: both postings ask for strong written and oral communication, and the scouting role expects evenings, weekends and holidays.

Note: No bar chart for this page. The Orioles have two fellow postings open and one student-eligible posting on TeamWork Online, which is too small a sample to count. The skills above come from those two postings.

For the analytics fellowship, a finished Externship project sits well beside a baseball model you built yourself, because the posting asks for both statistics and communication.

What Is the Baltimore Orioles Application and Interview Process Like?

The Orioles don't publish an interview format. This is what the postings show:

1. Pick your lane. The Data Scientist Fellow and Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow are open now; summer 2027 business internships aren't posted.

2. Apply on TeamWork Online. Start from "View Current Opportunities" on the Orioles careers page. The scouting fellow is also on the Greenhouse board.

3. Answer the screening questions. The Data Scientist Fellow application asks if you're near Baltimore or will relocate, and about work authorization and sponsorship.

4. Show your work. Bring an R or Python project on a baseball question for analytics, or a portfolio and cover letter for creative roles.

5. Interview. The Orioles publish no stages or timing.

A commenter on an October 2025 thread quoted a scouting-fellow application question: pick four stats to evaluate a hitter, no explanation. Expect to show how you think.

What Students on Reddit Say

Orioles internship threads are few. The two usable ones are about a 2025 scouting fellowship and a 2008 photo internship, so read them as color, not current process.

Commenters on an October 2025 thread about the Orioles' Pro Scouting Analyst Fellowship called $20 an hour plus evenings, weekends and holidays a hard sell for someone with a STEM degree. One noted the application asked you to pick four stats to evaluate a hitter, with no explanation allowed.

A former intern who studied fine art photography at UMBC said they got the Orioles team photographer internship in 2008 after seeing it posted, despite having no sports photography experience, and still counts it among the best jobs they've had.

How Do You Stand Out for an Orioles Internship?

Three moves. First, pick the open door. The Data Scientist Fellow is live now and is the only role on TeamWork Online marked for students, so apply there while you prepare for summer. Second, show baseball analytics, not just fandom: the posting asks for a deep passion for baseball analytics and statistics, so bring a model or study on a real question, in R or Python. Third, be ready for winter. The one summer-style posting we can read went up in mid-January and asked for a cover letter, portfolio and résumé. The Orioles don't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate, so treat the role itself as the goal and ask about next steps once you're in.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Baltimore Orioles internship?

No. Summer 2026 is over, and no summer internship is open. What's open is a seasonal Data Scientist Fellow in Baseball Analytics at $20 an hour, posted on 30 September 2026 for people enrolled in or who have completed a bachelor's. Summer 2027 business internships are expected around December to January.

When do Baltimore Orioles summer 2027 internships open?

We expect them around December 2026 to January 2027, but that rests on one dated posting: the Creative Video Internship, posted on 15 January 2025 and marked to fill ASAP. The Orioles haven't published dates, so check TeamWork Online from December and apply the first week.

Are any Baltimore Orioles internships open right now?

One student-eligible role. On 17 October 2026 the Orioles' TeamWork Online board listed the Data Scientist Fellow in Baseball Analytics, posted on 30 September. The Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow has been open on Greenhouse since 31 August but states no student requirement. No summer 2027 internship is posted.

How much do Baltimore Orioles interns make?

The Data Scientist Fellow and Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow both pay $20.00 an hour, per the Orioles' postings. The Creative Video Internship posted in January 2025 paid $15.00 an hour. Perks include concession and merchandise discounts, free parking and limited complimentary home tickets. Pay varies by role.

Do I need to be a student to apply to the Orioles?

For the Data Scientist Fellow, you need to be currently enrolled in or to have completed a bachelor's degree, so recent graduates qualify too. The Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow posting states no student requirement. Neither lists a GPA, and the application asks about work authorization and sponsorship.

Is the Orioles' fellow role an internship?

Close, but not identical. TeamWork Online files the Data Scientist Fellow at intern level, while the Orioles call it a fellowship, and it's a part-time seasonal hourly job. Students and graduates can both apply. Check the posting for hours, since the Orioles don't give start or end dates.

Where do I apply for an Orioles internship?

Use "View Current Opportunities" on the Orioles careers page, which opens their TeamWork Online board. Scouting fellows are also posted on the Orioles' Greenhouse board. Each role is a separate posting, so check both boards, and don't rely on job-aggregator copies.

Are Orioles gameday jobs internships?

No. Gameday event staff and Florida event staff are seasonal part-time jobs, linked from the Orioles careers page. They are separate from the fellow roles and from the summer and seasonal intern postings, so read each posting's title and description before you apply, and don't describe a gameday job as an internship unless the posting says so.

The Orioles' analytics fellow role is open now, and summer 2027 internships are expected around December to January. Apply to what fits today, and if you want a finished project to show, a remote Externship takes about 5 to 10 hours a week.
