Behind every package delivered is a massive human operation—and making that experience better isn’t just good for employees, it’s good for business. In this externship, you’ll work with real data from Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers to uncover what’s working, what’s not, and how workforce experiences impact everything from productivity to turnover. You’ll analyze employee feedback, identify root causes of frustration, and recommend practical solutions that a team lead could actually use. Along the way, you’ll build consulting-ready skills in qualitative research, data storytelling, and people analytics—exactly the kind of thinking top employers love to see.
Project Output
Externs will analyze publicly available reviews and testimonials from Amazon Fulfillment Center employees (via Glassdoor, Indeed, Reddit, and YouTube) to identify common workplace pain points—such as communication gaps, lack of recognition, or burnout.
After identifying a key theme, each extern will select a key employee persona and explore how that issue uniquely affects them. You'll thendesign a persona-specific solution that a team leader could use to improve the associate experience.

Amazon Fulfillment Centers are the backbone of Amazon’s logistics network, serving as massive, high-tech warehouses where customer orders are received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped. These facilities are integral to Amazon's ability to offer rapid delivery services, including same-day and two-day shipping.

Isaiah Cherry
Isaiah brings seven years of progressive Amazon experience to one of the most demanding roles in fulfillment operations. What started as a seasonal associate job during college became a career defined by consistent growth, earning multiple promotions from the warehouse floor to a senior salaried leadership position overseeing 1,500+ associates and 30+ managers across a high-volume fulfillment center.
Based in Atlanta and originally from Dallas, Isaiah has led operations across multiple facilities in Ohio and Georgia, including a formative chapter with Amazon Air where he developed expertise in aviation logistics and cross-functional operations. Today, he oversees daily processing volumes of up to 400,000 units while driving leadership development programs, peak season strategy, and workforce culture initiatives that keep his teams performing at the highest level.
He holds a degree in Business Management from Tarleton State University and is actively pursuing certifications through Amazon's Career Choice program.
Outside of work, Isaiah is an automotive enthusiast, photographer, and gamer, bringing the same eye for detail and passion for craft to his personal pursuits as he does to the floor.
