

In this externship program, students will learn strategic consulting skills to analyze and evaluate challenges from non-profit organizations using consulting frameworks, in an overall effort to help them solve their important problems. Selected individuals will be paired with a specific non-profit organization and dive into their strategic problems, such as development, impact assessment, process improvements, talent engagement, communication, and strategic positioning. Throughout this externship program, professionals from PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) will provide mentorship and coaching.
Overview
This externship opportunity at Macquarie Group, a global financial services organization committed to empowering people to innovate and invest for a better future, is tailored for ambitious college freshmen and sophomores with a keen interest in working in the financial services industry.
As an extern, you’ll gain valuable exposure and practical knowledge across Macquarie's asset management, capital advisory and investing, and commodities and global markets Groups. Externs will engage in projects that explore different aspects of the business, while also gaining exposure to the market landscape.
This experience will feature opportunities to connect with leaders across Macquarie Group and is designed to preview the experience of working at Macquarie. Externs will be invited to apply for the empowering, career-shaping Macquarie internship program in the summer of 2026.

Qualifications
We are seeking driven freshmen and sophomore-year undergraduate students, located in the Houston and New York City areas, who have a strong interest in finance, asset management, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and consulting. Students with backgrounds in finance, accounting, business, and economics are highly encouraged to apply.

This Externship is a 10-hour-per-week experience where all virtual meetings and events are recorded.
This Externship will last 8 weeks.
Students who successfully complete their externships will receive their educational stipends at the end of the program.
This Externship is open to Freshmen and Sophomores (graduating as part of the Class of Spring 2028/2029 and December 2027/2028) in the Houston and New York City areas.
