The externship experience gave me hands-on exposure to real-world investment analysis and sharpened how I present financial insights at a professional level. The company and I stayed in contact and I was later offered the opportunity to join the team and I took it.

The project felt real, practical, useful, and using AI made things easier to understand. Overall, it was a good experience that showed me how things actually work.

I love how Extern guides their externs. They're there with you every step of the way. It’s very beginner friendly and it’s also interactive learning that meets you where you're at.
In my Capital One interview, they asked what I was doing to grow professionally, and I immediately drew back on my externship experience. Everyone wants you to have experience before you can even get an internship, and Extern was what helped me break through that barrier.

The externship taught me a lot about Venture Capital and the process of selecting, doing due diligence, and creating an investment memo for a startup. This Externship taught me a lot of skills that I can use later in my career.

Conducting market research, analyzing real consumer data, and then turning those insights into a strategic product recommendations gave me confidence. It showed me what a business project really looks like and how it all comes together.

I really enjoyed this experience. It was flexible, which made it easier to focused on school, work, and do the externship. I got to meet people (networking). I also like that the meeting were recorded, so I could look back when I couldn't make it to the actual meetings.

Overall it was a great experience and great way to learn new skills. They really take the time to guide you and when you're learning new skills, you're also learning about the tools which is huge.

My Master’s program is more transactional. You do the assignments, you learn the theory, but Extern helped me see how to actually use those skills in a business context.

I landed multiple roles because of Extern, and I am living out all of my dreams. Thank you for believing in me — I’m so grateful to have been part of this program!

I was able to have tangible experiences to touch upon in my interviews. I explained what I was working on and how it would impact my role in their firm — and they loved it.

Positive aspects included hands-on experience in structuring investment memos and utilizing AI to streamline content creation. This is the type of experience that matters when interviewing.

Even two years after my externship, I was still bringing it up in job interviews because it was so relevant to my career growth. It helped me get internships.
Less than two months after my externship, I landed a junior year internship with Goldman Sachs. I talked a lot about the project we worked on during the externship, how we had to check in on different points of the work, and how that really built my confidence.

Extern was the very first thing on my resume. I pulled up the slide deck I built during my externship in an interview, and it snowballed into roles at Dell, Google, and now Microsoft.

Extern played a crucial role in bridging the gap between my education & the real world. Being able to present recommendations to the Head of Customer Insights at Beats was what paved the way for my current role at Rolls-Royce.

If I hadn’t done an externship, I’d be spending hours watching YouTube videos to understand which careers I might enjoy! Externships should be a requirement for every college student.

Coming into college it’s hard to get experience. Extern really helped me showcase my skills in interviews and gave me something solid on my resume.
I got to work with real data and present insights that mattered. Those externships gave me the confidence and portfolio to land my next opportunity.
My externships gave me hands-on marketing experience I never got in college — and helped me define my career goals. I think everybody should know about externships!

College teaches you how to think. Extern teaches you how to apply it. My externship experiences provided me with a broad perspective on how various parts of a company operate, from strategy to supply chain management.
My externships gave me practice in explaining, researching, analyzing and most importantly the presentation skills that I now use in my current role. I was only able to get amazing opportunities because I finally had experience on my resume from my externships.
My AT&T externship caught the eyes of execs which led to an internship at the AT&T Dallas HQ. If it weren't for the Extern, I wouldn't have gotten that internship opportunity to begin with.
It was a very valuable experience — especially the final pitch project which helped me land an internship this summer.
Gaining real world experience with Extern, I was able to secure 2 full time offers in FinTech and 5 internship offers from Fortune 500 companies as an international student. This experience helped me boost my resume when I had little to no real-world experience.
Extern helped me lay the foundation for my professional career. I went from being a sophomore just looking to build experience for my resume to landing multiple internships with some of the biggest companies in the country.

I loved my externship because it was my first real introduction to the corporate world and gave me early career skills that made me feel more prepared and confident going into future internships.
Extern works. I went from 500+ internship rejections last summer to 5+ offers this year. Thank you so much to the team at Extern, which truly made such an impact in my career!
I am forever grateful to Extern for introducing me to corporate work and responsibility. My freshman externship sparked a love for innovation and the capital markets that fuel it, landing me multiple roles and providing early confidence to pursue my passions.
I learned so much about venture capitalists, startups, and how to create an investment memo. Also, the best part of this externship was learning how to properly utilize LLMs and learn more about start-ups in the tech industry.
I learned actual skills in digital marketing like SEO that showed me what marketing is really like and has been really helpful towards my career growth.
Doing externships the summer after my freshmen year was literally a game changer and why I feel like I was able to get an internship as a sophomore when upper classmen were struggling to find an internship.
After completing the Schreiber Foods Zero Waste Strategy externship, I got a Zero-Waste Coordinator position with Recology, one of the largest waste management companies! I have an environmental science background but I had no relevant experience prior to completing the externship, so this opportunity really opened up doors for me.
