Amazon Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship

Imagine shaping how AMAZON — yes, THE Amazon — welcomes and keeps its workforce. Every year, Amazon loses billions because new hires leave before Day 90. You’re going to fix that. In this externship, you’ll web scrape real-world employee reviews from across the web, extract actionable insights, and design persona-driven strategies to help Learning Ambassadors connect smarter, faster, and more humanely. What I've accomplished

I produced a structured workforce network spreadsheet, a cleaned dataset of worker video reviews, combined keyword and sentiment analyses from Glassdoor and YouTube, 69 theme-tagged Glassdoor reviews from 149 cleaned rows, and a ranked segmentation that prioritized Specialized Physical Roles.

Project breakdown

During the AFC mapping task I listed frontline and support roles, recorded main responsibilities, who each role worked closely with, common tools, and why each role mattered. The submission produced a structured spreadsheet of the workforce network.

Situation: public reviews showed recurring complaints. Task: tag reviews to three themes. Action: ran Python keyword-based tagging on 149 cleaned Glassdoor rows. Result: 69 reviews matched the defined themes.

Faced with survey and categorical data, I grouped employees into five segments, measured friction frequency across themes, and scored each segment on impact, severity, and size. I produced a ranked list showing Specialized Physical Roles as the top priority.
