An Outamation externship on AI-powered document intelligence, focused on converting unstructured mortgage files into searchable data and extraction pipelines.
The externship produced a set of reproducible tools and notebooks that turned mixed mortgage blobs into machine-readable outputs. Work included OCR and layout-aware extraction, Python preprocessing and table reconstruction, a RAG pipeline with vector storage and retrieval, a Gradio chatbot interface, and an end-to-end demo with measured evaluation metrics.
I delivered a complete, end-to-end document automation pipeline including OCR, text cleaning, embeddings and FAISS retrieval, RAG-based QA, a Gradio chatbot demo, and evaluation metrics (Recall@5 0.78, MRR 0.65, end-to-end accuracy 80%).
