The work prototyped an AI pipeline that extracted structured data and generated document-level insights from enterprise pharmaceutical PDFs. It combined a literature review of ML and NLP methods with hands-on integration of OCR, embedding retrieval, and LLM synthesis. Deliverables included a documented methodology and a working prototype pipeline.
I inspected a vendor pharmaceutical file, catalogued multiple document types and three date formats, recorded a 3.8-year-old pharmacopeia compliance statement, and flagged inconsistent date formats and checkbox symbols as likely extraction error sources.
