During my externship with Yinan Zhao, I gained invaluable experience in value investing by analyzing key stocks under the guidance of a seasoned investor. I developed proficiency in financial modeling, learned to interpret alternative data, assessed market trends, and crafted compelling investment recommendations, equipping myself with skills crucial for a career in finance.

What I've accomplished

I produced a Stock Card for American Eagle Outfitters and a concise spreadsheet of extracted 10-K insights that summarized operating segments, revenue drivers, and market positioning.

Project breakdown

I picked American Eagle Outfitters as the stock for analysis, ran the four-part analyst lens, used AI tools to gather company data and ownership signals, and produced a Stock Card summarizing the growth thesis and key findings.

I located the company 10-K, read the Business Overview, and summarized key operating segments, revenue drivers, and market positioning. I produced a concise spreadsheet of extracted insights used to compare segment performance and strategic focus.

The project compiled earnings-release notes, competitor mapping, and call sentiment into a locked qualitative template. I updated and finalized risks and stock catalysts, then saved the completed template as the deliverable.
